The age of Exploration affected not only Europeans in a positive way but other regions in positive but mostly negative ways. The Age of Exploration began when Columbus believe in new trade routs to India and found the Americas. There were many motives like sliver, gold, converting people, spices, and more technology. During this time Europeans affected many native populations of newly conquered lands. During the age of Exploration, Europeans shaped the newly conquered lands, such as Africa, the Americas, and Asia by colonizing, witch resulted in a loss of culture for native, enforcing religion, and controlling trade.
Due to the exploration of other regions Europeans colonized the new lands, Africa and the Americas, and cause a loss of culture among the natives. When the Europeans sent out to discover new lands they came across the Americas and Africa where they found new resources. The Europeans also saw that their lands were very fertile and temperate for growing resources to take back to Europe. (doc.4) The Since the Europeans colonized the land of the natives they began to loose their culture. They began to distrust their gods also because of all the violence that the Europeans brought.
The European also began to enforce religion and the attempted to them to Catholicism. When the Europeans discovered the Americas they tried to convert the natives to Catholicism they were mostly unsuccessful. I Asia they were more successful with Francis Xavier. Most of the local converted but the missionaries were prosecuted when they became involved in politics. The Europeans also tried to covert their African slaves. Most slave converted to a form of Catholicism mixed with Muslim. Like said in document three “ I believe the inhabitants of this land are rather eerie also”. The Europeans believed that the natives were savages because of their different style of living and wanted to change them.
The European also shaped the newly conquered land by controlling the majority of trading routes. By gaining control of the trading routes the Europeans could regulate what was being exported, imported, and taxes on those things. They not only trading spices and resources but also slaves to the New World form Africa. The trading of slaves affected Africa in many negative ways. It caused de population, loss of culture, and violence. (Doc. 2) Due to the control of trade Europe became very economically inclined. Trade affected the majority if the regions that the Europeans explored, because of the fertile lands of the New World they began to cultivate resources there which called for more slaves from Africa. This process was known as triangular trade, which the Europeans controlled.
The Age of Exploration gave Europeans the chance to shape the newly conquered lands by colonizing, pushing for the conversion to Catholicism, and controlling trade. In Africa, Asia, And the New World the Europeans affected the natives for the most part negatively. They caused depopulation, loss of culture, violence, and economic downfalls.
