The earliest people in the Americas were people of the Negritic African race, who entered the Americas perhaps as early as 100,000 years ago, by way of the bering straight and about thirty thousand years ago in a worldwide maritime undertaking that included journeys from the then wet and lake filled Sahara towards the Indian Ocean and the Pacific, and from West Africa across the Atlantic Ocean towards the Americas.
According to the Gladwin Thesis, this ancient journey occurred, particularly about 75,000 years ago and included Black Pygmies, Black Negritic peoples and Black Australoids similar to the Aboriginal Black people of Australia and parts of Asia, including India.

Recent discoveries in the field of linguistics and other methods have shown without a doubt, that the ancient Olmecs of Mexico, known as the Xi People, came originally from West Africa and were of the Mende African ethnic stock. According to Clyde A. Winters and other writers (see Clyde A. Winters website), the Mende script was discovered on some of the ancient Olmec monuments of Mexico and were found to be identical to the very same script used by the Mende people of West Africa. Although the carbon fourteen testing date for the presence of the Black Olmecs or Xi People is about 1500 B.C., journies to the Mexico and the Southern United States may have come from West Africa much earlier, particularly around five thousand years before Christ. That conclusion is based on the finding of an African native cotton that was discovered in North America. By evaluating the human remains, artifacts, and some other archaeological evidence, the scientists have believed that the First Peoples arrived during the last Ice Age, or Pleistocene era , via the Bering Land Bridge. Based on geological evidence, similar fossils discovered on both continents prove that large grazing animals such as bison, caribou, horses, mammoths, and musk oxen migrated across this vast terrain for much of the last Ice Age, historians have believed that the First Peoples were big game hunters due to the size and shape of stone projectile points that have been found out, so it is possible that the hunter families followed these animals migrated across the plains, either on foot or on boat. Therefore, I agree with the idea that humans may have first entered Americas via a land route. It is the most commonly acknowledged theory and most plausible one.…

The narrative concerning the exploration of the North American continent was a little bit of Eu-ropean ethnocentrism, as well as a reflection of historical reality. According to the book, “First Peoples”, just about everyone from monks to visitors from outer space “discovered” America much earlier than Columbus. For example: archaeological evidence points to the Vikings being in Greenland, Newfoundland and Labrador back in 1000 AD. However, due to relations with the Native population that were mired in violence the colonies that were created by the Vikings were short lived. By the end of the 15th century, Europe became the dominant force regarding globe expansion that reached into Africa, America, Asia and Australia.…

The Olmec civilization, which flourished in eastern Mexico from about 1300 to 400 B.C., was probably the forerunner of several other Central American civilizations, Such as, the Toltec, Aztec, and Maya. The Olmec practiced advanced agricultural methods, but they were also accomplished engineers. For example one of their gifts to posterity is a group of sculpted stone heads, each weighing more than 20 tons. Although the purpose of these monuments is not fully understood they attest to the artistic and technical skills of a people living in the Americas some 2,500 years before Columbus. Even more interesting is the fact that like the ancient Egyptians the Olmec developed a sophisticated method of writing based on their own hieroglyphics. Strangely…

Indubitably, the acts made upon Indians for the sake of progress were atrocious. Brutal and cruel murders of millions of Indian peoples resound to this day. Their populations may never recover from such an incredible loss; the past can be ignored but never erased. However, we as Americans, celebrate Christopher Columbus day with joy. We think only of ‘The Founding of America’ and not by the means of which our country was constructed. To Indians everywhere this holiday is simply a remembrance of the murder, torture, rape, and enslavement of their people that last hundreds of years. So why do we celebrate such an insidious act? Because we justify the imposition of others for the sake of human progress. However is this tactic progressive at all?…
