The economic and political powers that be have administered cuts in financial assistance to low income families, as well as a decrease in affordable housing for those who need it. African Americans represent a large number of those affected by economic, political and workforce changes. When it comes to the urban area of New York City (NYC) many African Americans are being displaced because of one if not all of the previous mention changes. These are some of the pathways for African Americans becoming homeless. The housing needs of African American homeless are far greater without services available to address their identified needs.
