The main businesses of the company
Webster Limited (WBA) is a company produces fresh land-based food and exports them in Tasmania. WBA has two core operating divisions: one is Field Fresh Tasmania (FFT); and the other is Walnuts Australia (WA). FFT is responsible for producing red and brown onions. It is also the largest exporter of onions in Australia. Providing fresh onions to TESCO is made up 10% of its business. WA is the largest walnuts producer in Australia. WBA produces counter-seasonal food to supply to northern hemisphere market. Approximately 80% of its walnuts and 41% of its onions are exported to the Northern Hemisphere areas.
a) The chairman of the company and his background
The chairman of the company is Rod Roberts.
At beginning of his career in Webster limited, he was a Managing director from 1996 to 2001. After October 2001, he was appointed as Chairman of this company until 2007. Then in 2008, he took the position of Chairman again. Mr. Roberts has held many roles in different companies and institutions in the past.
b) The Chief Executive Officer of the company and his background
The Chief Executive Officer of Webster Limited is John Hosken since 2009. Mr. Hosken is previously responsible for marketing and sales in Webster limited. His experience in marketing and sales is over 20 years. Now Mr. Hosken is also a postgraduate in UTAS studying in Business.
c) The number of shareholders
The number of ordinary shareholders is 1,365. And number of cumulative preference shareholders is 198. The total number of shareholders is 1,563.
