1. Locate current examples of marketing stimuli that depend on an ethnic or religious stereotype to communicate a message. How effective are these appeals?
Ethnic stereotypes represents ethnic groups that composed of different characteristics, personality etc. This is how to communicate with marketing stimuli that based on the social factors based on their society to have a decision making and have a response when it comes to marketing mix which is the 4p’s product, price, place and promotion. Every organization have an own target market and it divided into different segmentation. For example, your organization selling meat products and your place is in the area which country is not eating meats they prefer vegetables over meat which determines the buyer response.

3. Locate one or more consumers (perhaps family members) who have emigrated from another country. Interview them about how they adapted to their host culture. In particular, what changes did they make in their consumption practices over time?

I interviewed a family that consists of three children and both of the parents are working as an office employee. They come from the Philippines and they have been residing here for 5 years. They didn’t want to include their name on this paper so I have made it confidential according to their demand.

* How did you adapted to your host culture? “America is a dream of almost all people in the world. Many would like to come and live here because they want to experience the American way of living. They heard about the good life that America has to offer to everyone who comes and this impression overwhelmed our hearts' desire to migrate for greener pasture. We have no idea of how challenging is the life of new immigrants adjusting to many different things in a strange land very different from what we used to have.”

    My “Honeymoon stage” from the moment I stepped on the plane right up to the moment we touched ground in Kennedy Airport . I knew I was in for a surprise and was excited about the unlimited opportunities which awaited me in the USA.     Big name brands are taking over the world, making people purchase their merchandise because their favorite celebrity is wearing it or because their favorite sports team is being sponsored by them. As for me Nike is my favorite brand because it has many ways on fitting their merchandise on me and not only does it help me with athletics but it also has many encouraging advertisements. The Nike advertisement that I chose encourages people to be the best that they can be just by using six simple words. Explicitly the advertisement is telling people that you will lose a game, or a match sometime in your life but no matter what some people will be those that change that game. It features the University of Oregon football team one of the top ranked teams in College football, they are one of the top contenders to win the National Championship every year but as soon as they begin to lose or go down in a game then they have their star players step up to change the outcome of the game.
