Advertisement Analysis Advertising is definitely a great tool for companies to sell their products. It has the ability to get consumer’s attention and it persuades people to buy the products. Many companies use “advertising agencies” to create an advertisement for their products, and “advertising agencies” use different types of strategies to create an advertisement to attract consumers. This attached advertisement has multiple methods to stimulate the consumers to buy the product. The client of the attached ad is the “Bose Corporation”, one of the best known companies for audio equipment. Unfortunately, the advertising agency for this ad is unidentifiable. The “Bose Corporation” has been known as an American national company since 1964 and this ad is for their product which aims to consumers who are spread out worldwide. Pictured in the ad is a man wearing “Bose” headphones while rowing a boat dangerously close to “Niagara Falls”, one of the largest waterfalls in the world. He is rowing the boat facing away from the waterfall, and due to the high tech of noise cancellation of “Bose” headphones, he seems not noticing that there is a huge waterfall right behind him. The text in top right corner of the ad reads: “Bose Noise Reduction Headphones”. The intended message of the ad appears to be that if people use “Bose Headphones”, people will not able to hear any external noise besides the music that they are listening to over the headphones. Therefore, the goal of this advertisement is to emphasize their noise reduction technology to consumers. This ad uses the humorous appeal to the consumers. In the picture, he is about to fall under the waterfall in a second, but he seems he does not notice it. He has a very amused and relaxed looks with “Bose Headphones” on, which creates a humorous mood to the readers.
