advantages of laminated glass

One of the advantages of Laminated glass is its safety properties. Laminated glass would not scatter into dangerous fragments when it is broken . It will still remain intact while it breaks into a web pattern. This is because the vinyl inner layer inside it keeps the glass from scattering. Laminated glass can also reduce sound emission. It helps to reduce unwanted sounds and noise through the air space between the two panes of glass. The interlayer of the laminated glass also helps by absorbing the sound which passes through the glasses , thus increases its sound- proofing quality. Reducing the penetration of UV rays is also one of the advantages of laminated glass. Penetration of UV rays causes fading of carpets , fabric, curtains , as well as pictures and paintings. With UV-absorbing additives in the laminated glass, UV rays can be screened out up to 95 percent. Nevertheless, laminated glass also has its disadvantages. One of the disadvantages is laminated glass will deteriorate when the edge of the laminated glass is damp over a period of time such as condensation or water bonding as water will cause the separation of interlayer from the glass surface. Besides that, inadequate airspace within the two panes of laminated glass will greatly reduce the noise reduction properties of laminated glass.

There are many advantages of tempered glass. One of the advantages is tempered glass is very strong. It is 4 to 5 times stronger than the ordinary glass, 3 to 5 times greater bending strength of ordinary glass and 5 to10 times greater impact strength than ordinary glass. Tempered glass is also well known for its safety properties. When it breaks, it will break into small, blunt glass fragments which reduces the risk of injury since there are no sharp fragments unlike the ordinary glass. Besides that, tempered glass is also thermally stable. Thermally stable means the glass is able to resist temperature differences. Tempered glass is 1.5-2 times more resistant
