Advanced Practice Nursing Field: A Case Study
I would not advise Sarah to take the position offered due to the fact that there are more than one category within the advanced practice nursing field. The role of nurse practitioner and family nurse practioners (FNP) hold their own category within the APN field and although she has passed her board exam and is certified in working as an APN, she does not have any experience in family medicine and geriatric care on paper (McClelland, 2014) . Over time, Sarah can gain exposure in the care of adult medicine and geriatrics, however to be thrown into the mix with little to know experience can have a negative impact on her patients and the medical practice that she is working for. Additionally, it is recommended that she exercise medical practice
