Adult Nursing Personal Statement

I have chosen this course because of my ambition from secondary school onwards has been to become a practising nurse who makes a real and positive change to people's lives. I have wanted to be involved in working, in a health care setting from an early age as I spent a lot of time in hospital with my mother's asthma problems, which developed my growing interest in nursing. My desire to take a course in adult nursing was firmly established after my first work placement at a care home. In the placement, I understood that becoming a nurse would excite me as I would be helping others with their needs and seeing them to better health. I feel that nursing would be rewarding and create fulfilling path for my future. Moreover, I would like to go into the friendly working community of the NHS.
I am always committed to doing my best and exceeding targets. I always work hard to achieve what I want and I believe that I will put this effort to studying adult nursing at university. I know that nursing will be a challenging profession to go into because nurses must have the ability to make decisions, show kindness and support the diverse needs of individuals in their care. It will test my skills and abilities but I am confident that I can meet these challenges. In addition, nursing will help me achieve my ambition of supporting and treating others. I enjoy working directly with people and as a nurse; I would be in a unique position to interact with people on a daily basis and would be doing something I am passionate
