Adopting Cats In Humane Societies

People are less likely to adopt cats from humane societies because many believe it may be because they were not good cats at first so why adopt them. Some people usually want a new kitten instead of a grown cat. Many do not want a cats with disabilities because some of them are “too much to handle.” Taipei, Taiwan found new way to help cats become more adoptive. In 1998 they opened the very first cat cafe, which has recently became very popular and many are starting to pop up everywhere in the United States. A cat cafe is a cafe where people can come have a drink and some food and hang out with cats. Though the cafe part is blocked off from the cats because of health regulations people can still go back with the cats after they get there own food. This is a way to get people to adopt more cats. The cats come from humane societies to help increase adoption. Cats in humane societies are being treated unfairly. According to ASPCA there are “1.3 million cats euthanized each year, 3.4 of cats enter shelters each year, and 37 percent of cats who enter humane societies are adopted each year” (Pet Statistics.). Cats can find a better life in a cat cafe. To get more cats to be adopted is to open more of these cafes around the world. For people to do this they will need to save money. Also, they would need to buy/rent a building to have cat, and keep the building up to the health regulations. These cafes will cause more people to buy cats. This is because people love cafes, it is a place for someone to go before they go to work to grab a snack or drink. Also, people can go in there to have a companion, and relieve stress. Some people can not own a cat so this will allow people to hang out with them. Also, in humane societies cats are stuck in a cage all day and night, and they are not allowed to leave them, so if someone wants to hold them they cannot let them touch the ground.
