Admirable What is the Scarlet letter? What the scarlet letter is the letter that Hester Prynne wears after she commits adultery with reverend dimmesdale. That Scarlet letter is a bright Scarlet colored letter A that is supposed to mean Adulterer.Through the story the letter develops into something more than an adulterer.Although its first intended to show the meaning as an adulterer, throughout the story she becomes empowered and the letter A becomes Admirable instead of Adulterer.This is through the belief that she should be admired for all she’s done instead of shunned, this is because she raised a child amidst all the hate and unforgiving of her fellow townspeople and in the midst of this she still led a successful life through her needles and making things.
Hester overcame the letter and did not let it get in the way of her progress to get back in the civilization after a time of being shunned by most the people in the town they took the A as meaning able and no longer adultery.I think that she deserved this because she wanted to be treated like a regular person.Her community ,and charity work combined with the amount of effort she put in her needle business is what led her to becoming more friendly with her neighbors and town folk.She deserves to be admired she did not let anyone tell her what she can can and cannot do and in doing so she made good out of a bad situation and got through the Letter metaphorically.I also mean that the thing that excluded her from the rest of the normal people is the letter A is what made her unique and what made her a more important or relevant person and this made her
