Adebimpe Recommendation
I am writing this letter to give my highest possible recommendation for Ms. Adebimpe Adelaja. I am Professor and Vice Chair for Strategic Technologies in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, UC Davis. I had the opportunity to get to know Adebimpe when I served as a mentor for the Hugh Edmonson Summer Internship. On the first day of the internship, I was able to have a discussion with each student and select the student I would work with for the next 8 weeks. Adebimpe distinguished herself with her enthusiasm to do research and genuine curiosity of imaging.
Throughout the summer, Adebimpe demonstrated her ability to work independently with exceptional creativity and eagerness. Adebimpe worked with another student on a project involving a newly developed fluorescence microscope. The purpose was to explore the capabilities of this new microscope and furthermore to compare it

When she presented a draft of her presentation to the lab, she took all the feedback that was given graciously. When she made her finial presentation in front of research colleagues, it was articulate, coherent, well-organized and showed a clear understanding of the topic. It was also apparent that she had taken the feedback seriously and had made the necessary adjustments. I was able to observe her progression throughout the summer, from not knowing much about the subject-matter, to giving an engaging presentation.
In summary, Adebimpe proved to be a highly conscientious, intelligent, and effective intern. She would bring exemplary analytic, oral, and written skills, a great work ethic, and a wonderful personality to the position. Her work in the lab suggests that she would greatly benefit from the opportunities for intellectual development provided by your program. I would therefore highly recommend Adebimpe Adelaja. I think she would be an outstanding asset to your

The bright field microscope is best known to students and is most likely to be found in a classroom. Visible light is focused through a specimen by a condenser lens, then is passed through two more lenses placed at both ends of a light-tight tube. The latter two lenses each magnify the image. Limitations to what can be seen in bright field microscopy are not so much related to magnification as they are to resolution, illumination, and contrast. Resolution can be improved using oil immersion lenses.…

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Briana Furch in her pursuit of a residency position in your program. I met Briana during the spring of 2011 when she came to Jackson Park Hospital as a 4th year medical student for one of her elective clerkship. During that time I found Briana to be a very hard working and delightful student who showed a significant amount of interest in learning.…

In my Speech 1 class, the class delivered informative speeches based on the topics students chose. Also, the class was assigned to do a peer evaluation and the student I had to evaluate was Emily. The specific purpose statement for Emily’s speech was “To inform my audience about Atrioventricular Canal Defect”, and her method of organization seemed to be topical, which is a good when informing your audience about a health problem. Also, the main points of her speech included: what is atrioventricular canal defect, what are the symptoms, and what are the treatment options. Although Emily’s speech had many strengths and weakness when it came to the content and delivery of her speech, overall she did a great job.…

Gothamie Weerakoon presentation was how inspirational she was. Coming from a small country in Asia and having 2 children while being an undergrad showed how much passion she had for science. She never gave up and continued her education. She travels the world to amazing places to collect more lichen and document the various types. I also, liked how clear and funny she was in her presentation. She explained well what are lichen which I have never heard of before her presentation. Dr. Weerakoon showed us videos and great pictures of her work and experiences which I liked. I really enjoyed her presentation and found it a very educational and inspirational.…

It has been more than three years that I know this applicant. When I joined Kepler in 2014, this applicant was a student in the first year. During that academic year, I taught her communications and other skills that helped her to work well on her projects. Through her works and class participation, I could see that she was a hard work. She always met deadlines and make sure her works were of high quality. Another thing is that she was always looking for support whenever needed. In fact, whenever she found out that she missed something in class, she could attend office hours for clarification. In 2015, when she was hired as a course facilitator, she was very committed, determined and responsible. In fact, when she had to work on any task, she made sure to complete it on time and with efficiency. Till now, her actions show that she is collaborative. She really believes in team work. In fact, she knows that for a team to be…

She first presented on housing sustainability. We went over mortgage basics. This way we were able to learn the basics of what is all in your mortgage and what you need to know when applying for a mortgage. I really loved how she emphasized that we should use our budget as a guide. It really went hand in hand with what Loryn had taught right before. Once we learned the mortgage basics we were taught how the mortgage sustainability worksheet goes. Ellie did a wonderful job at explaining this work sheet, especially for those in the class that had never seen it before. We also were able to go over debt, mortgage information and ratios, and also interest. These were a part of the worksheet, so we just briefly covered these topics as we filled out the work sheet. At the very end of the day Ellie present again. This time was just giving a general review of how the workshop went. She asked what went well, what people like the most throughout the day, and asked if anyone had any addition questions. It was done in a very professional…

James Hillier and Albert Prebus spent their most of their time in the University of Toronto building a prototype of the electron microscope, which would be used for later versions of it in the future. While James Hillier was working at the Radio Corporation of America, he also developed and perfected the device using the previous prototype. Both Hillier and Prebus manufactured the parts of the device themselves, and, naming the experiment and development “strictly a string and beeswax operation”, it took the two scientists months to complete the microscope.…

I decided to pick Team E’s presentation to evaluate. This team’s topic was the only one that I haven’t done some sort of research on for another class, and I felt that it was best that I picked something that I don’t really know any details about. Team E’s power point presentation was on Alzheimer’s disease. This disease was discovered in 1906 by Dr. Alois Alzheimer. He was the person who first saw the disease, and was able to notice the cognitive and behavioral degeneration in patients (Bremer, Ross, Shaw, Towery, 2012). This is a disease that is very damaging not only to the person suffering, but to their love ones around them.…
