He was funded by the french king at the time and was sent with four ships. Giovanni explored the coast in boats and there was 4 boats sent to explore the coast but only two of the 4 ships made it to the coast line, the other 2 ships made it but were severely damaged from the storms they encountered. Upon Adam’s arrival in Charleston, with only $25, a sleeping bag, a duffel bag, and the clothes on his back , he makes his way to a homeless shelter in a rough part of town. The place looked neat enough from the outside, but it had dirty floors, unclean showers, bathrooms that appeared to have never been cleaned.
