A successful professional career demands a blend of personal traits , knowledge and skill set aquired through personal, academic and professional experience.
My undergrad years provided me a platform to inculcate a few. One such instance was my experience as Placement Coordinator of the Institute. Post recession, the economic environment across the globe was gloomy and India was no exception. By the end of August, 18 of the last year's recruiters had already turned down the invitations. Challenge before me was to insure presence of new set of companies with opportunities in line with aspirations of candidates. Inputs from the candidates helped our team to prepare list companies we needed to focus on. To invite companies, I leveraged the strong alumni and industry network of IIT. I also prepared branch specific brochure and presentations to lay our case. Coordinated team efforts and un-daunting spirit to achieve the target culminated in successful placement session, with nearly 100% placements.
In my 3.5 years of association with XXX, I experienced the challenges of a start-up and was an integral part in the journey of its growth. As a techno-functional consultant in an IT services firm , not only I got opportunity to work with the corporate giants of diverse geography, but also on an array of verticals- Manufacturing, Insurance and SCM. As the strength of company grew from 20 to over hundred, my role became more versatile. In last two years I have been involved in several activities ranging from requirement gathering and solution design to effort estimates, escalation management and pre-sales. I have also been part of the recruitment process. My association with this budding organization has helped me to get acquainted with a rare set of skills such as multitasking abilities, interpersonal skills, along with strong domain and technical expertise.

After graduating high school, I knew I had to make a decision to either go to community college or join The United States Army. I decided to diligently join the Army and make something of myself. I knew, coming from where I did, you either sink or swim. I refused to become another product of my environment. I left for training a week after I graduated high school. As an 18 year old, I did not know what to expect. I would train rigorously. Although I was always an athlete, I physically performed feats I never thought I could do. I felt mature not just physically but also mentally. When I joined the Army, it was not just about me finding a career; it was my transitionary stage into becoming a man. During the process of joining the Army, they give you many options and incentives for your career, if you score high on your assessment test. One of my options was to go to airborne school after I was finished with my initial training. But the only problem was my biggest fear was heights. When you are airborne in the Army you jump out of an airplane with a parachute on your back into combat. At first, I was excited beyond measure because becoming airborne in the army is a very distinctive honor. During airborne school, I went through a three week training process. It was very intense training and you learned to pay attention to everything the instructors were teaching. Because with one wrong move or slip up while jumping could cost your life or end up getting someone else hurt, which could be fatal. Luckily, I graduated airborne school and I ended up finishing my army career with over 34 jumps and two jumps were into combat.…

    My Major Accomplishment

The thing that comes to mind that I would say makes me the proudest is working so hard all those years in high school to get good grades just so I could get into the best college in Florida. The day I got accepted into University of Florida was the day I felt proudest of all my accomplishments in high school. I would not say it was easy though, I managed to maintain my high GPA while holding a job, participating in sports, and even doing a lot of chores most kids would not even think about doing. I can remember when my family had me help fix our house after a waterline busted and flooded the entire house. After school and football practice I would come home and start working on fixing our house. No matter how tired I was I did not quit until the job was done even if it meant staying up late with my mom working on the project at hand. Now I know by no means necessary that this is a miracle, but I feel that it is something I am proud of. Being able to accomplish my goal no matter how many tasks I have to do. So I know now that I can handle anything that comes my way no matter how hard it may seam and how tiresome I may be I will not let up until I am done. The day I received my acceptance letter to the University of Florida was proof of the hard work I had done and that I was going to get where I wanted as long as I keep up my hard work.…
