Abuse In William Golding's Lord Of The Flies

Abuse happens everyday in many forms. Physical, sexual, psychological, verbal and emotional abuse are a few common types, but there’s another form of abuse that happens just as often. Human rights abuse is happening everyday in every way. These rights tie into physical, sexual, psychological, verbal, emotional, and all other types of abuse because everybody has rights and when someone or something tampers with those rights, it becomes human rights abuse. Punching, hitting, kicking, name calling, threatening, and unwanted kissing or touching are a few examples of abuse. Some of these types of abuse occur in the book The Lord of the Flies, a classic book about boys stranded on an island. There is terrorism, imprisonment of innocent people, and banned protests all over the country. Tensions between an ISIS affiliate and the Egyptian government are very high. There are examples of these issues in Egypt in Lord of the Flies. There were immense examples of terrorism in this book. Jack used fear as a way to control the boys. He spoke often of a scary beast waiting to kill. He used the fear the boys had of the beast to heighten the power he had. Imprisonment of innocent people also happened in this book. Jack had Wilfred, an innocent boy who had done nothing wrong, whipped. He did this to show the power he had over the boys and that he could do whatever he wanted. Jack also banned talk of foreign ideas. He believes his ideas are right and nobody else’s opinions or ideas mattered. He was banning the ideas of others, much like Egypt did with banning protests. Egypt banned protests because the protestors were revolting against the government. The Egyptian government, whose president at the time was Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, didn’t like this and banned
