When speaking of the pantheon of great Americans, there are many inspiring stories of men and women that made themselves great following the all elusive "American Dream." Americans have long drawn inspiration from figures such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and many others; there is one figure that has stood out from the rest. Many of the Founding Fathers were either born into wealth or became independently wealthy, but one poor farmer's son who used his wits and determination to become arguably the greatest president in American history.
