Overview of
PowerTek Berhad or more popularly known as ‘PowerTek’ made its inception in Malaysia on 5, December 1990 under the Malaysian Company Act, 1965 and was the first Infrastructure Project Company (IPC) enlisted in the main Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad which was previously known as ‘Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Berhad’. However, in 2003, the company became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powertek Energy and the primary activities of Powetek and its subsidiaries called Powertek Group is to generate power. Its vision is ‘To be a leading Asian power Company’, with a mission stating ‘Power generation is our core business. We will also invest in complementary business which creates value. We are committed to enhance shareholder value, whilst maintaining high standard of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility’. PowerTek is the sole manufacturer in Bangladesh to produce and export high-class smokeless Briquette from sawdust, rice straw, rice husk and biomass using most recent screw press equipment and machinery. The product line ranges from high-quality wood Pellet to wood briquette from Biomass. Pendekar Energy (L) Ltd (PEL) is a joint venture company between TEH Ventures Ltd (TEHV) and Aljomaih Automotive Company Ltd. TEHV is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Powertek Energy Holdings. Aljomaih is a private limited company incorporated in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Pendekar Energy (L) Ltd ("PEL") has 7 major plants operating and functioning in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Egypt. Following are the list of seven plants: Meghnaghat Power Plant, Bangladesh
