Abortion Is Murder
If you are reading this you should go home and thank your mom. 40% of women choose to have an abortion ("Abortion in America."). Abortion is when a mother chooses to terminate her pregnancy. A mother can have an abortion up until right before the baby is born. There are two different kinds of abortion- in clinic abortion and the abortion pill. Three out of ten women in the United States have an abortion by the time they are 45. Some states require you to have your parents permission if you are under age 18 (Abortion). Abortion is a horrible process that, not only kills the baby but, also can do serious damage to the mother. This horrible procedure should be considered murder.

Suction abortion is most often used in the first trimester. The abortionist inserts a suction tube into the mother’s womb. The suction and cutting edge dismember the baby while the hose suck the body parts into a bottle. During a Dilation and curettage the abortionist uses a loop shaped knife to cut the baby up into pieces and and scrape the uterine wall. Then the baby’s body parts are removed to check to make sure that no pieces were left in the mother’s womb. Dilation and evacuation is used to abort babies in the second trimester. The abortionist pulls the baby out and crushes the baby’s head. It’s hard to perform because the baby’s bones are strong at this point. Dilation and extraction: use to abort babies all the way to the third trimester. The abortionist reaches into the mother’s womb, grabs the baby’s feet, and pulls the baby out of the mother except for the head. The abortionist then jams a pair of scissors into the back of the baby’s head and spreads the scissors apart to make a hole in the baby’s head. The abortionist removes the scissors and sticks a suction tube into the skull and sucks the baby’s brain out. Then the forceps are used to crush the baby’s head and the abortionist pulls the baby’s body out the rest of the way. Hysterotomy is performed in the third trimester. The abortionist makes an incision in the mother’s abdomen then, the baby is set aside to either die or be killed by a nurse. Mifepristone is a …show more content…

There are several ways to perform an abortion. Kerby Anderson lists seven ways to perform an abortion. The first procedure is called the Dilation and Curettage (D &C) procedure. This procedures involves the physician dilating the cervix in order for a curette to be inserted into the womb. The curette is used to scrape the placenta from the uterus and cut the baby apart. The second procedure is the Suction Aspiration procedure. This procedures includes the dilation of the cervix in order to insert a tube into the womb. The tube suctions the baby from the uterus. According to Anderson this procedure is used “80% of the times in abortion up to 12 weeks” (Anderson, 2005, 39). The third procedure is a Saline injection. This procedure is also known…

If the baby does not come out whole, then comes the D and E (dilation and evacuation). They then use clamps and forceps to remove the baby piece by piece. Once all the body parts are removed, the abortion is finally complete. Basically what just happened is that a baby was injected in the womb to have a heart attack and then gets delivered two-three days later and if he/she does not come out whole, they break them out piece by piece. (Dr.Anthony Levatino). In early abortions there is medicine and pills to terminate the pregnancy (“Abortion Procedures”). In medical abortions, there are two pills called mifepristone and misoprostol. Mifepristone is the pill women would take first to cause the embryo to detach from the uterine wall. Then, two days later the women will take the misoprostol pill. This pill contracts the uterus to expel the embryo (Lauren Panariello). Morally, the medicine is a more proper way to abort the baby than the late-term way. A women can take the medicine as soon as she is aware she is pregnant. In this case, the women would not wait to have a late-term abortion, she would just take the pill as early as she…

In the United States, abortion is used most often to end an unplanned pregnancy. Unplanned pregnancies happen when birth control is not used, is used incorrectly, or fails to prevent a pregnancy. Abortion is also used to end a pregnancy when tests reveal that the fetus is abnormal. Therapeutic abortion refers to an abortion recommended when the mother's health is at risk. Roughly one-half of all abortions are done during the first 8 weeks of pregnancy and about 88% during the first 12 weeks of…

The moral gravity of procured abortion is apparent in all its truth if we recognize that we are dealing with murder and, in particular, when we consider the specific elements involved. The one eliminated is a human being at the very beginning of life. No one more absolutely innocent could be imagined. In no way could this human being ever be considered an aggressor, much less an unjust aggressor! He or she is weak, defenseless, even to the point of lacking that minimal form of defense consisting in the poignant power of a newborn baby's cries and tears. The unborn child is totally entrusted to the protection and care of the woman carrying him or her in the womb. And yet sometimes it is precisely the mother herself who makes the decision and asks for the child to be eliminated, and who then goes about having it done. It is true that the decision to have an abortion is often tragic and painful for the mother insofar as the decision to rid herself of the fruit of conception is not made for purely selfish reasons or out of convenience, but out of a desire to protect certain important values such as her own health or a decent standard of living for the other members of the family. Sometimes it is feared that the child to be born would live in such conditions that it would be better if the birth did not take place. Nevertheless, these reasons and others like them, however serious and tragic, can never justify the deliberate killing of an innocent human being.…

A lot of people who are for abortion, say that it is not a viable life until it could survive outside the body. With today's technology, babies are surviving outside the womb as early as 20 some weeks. Another disturbing fact, is when a pregnant woman is murdered or dies, it is considered a double homicide. If the abortion of an unborn child is not “murder” or killing of a life, it wouldn't be considered a homicide. Many abortions now are given not by the mutilation and suction out of the woman's body, but by a pill that disintegrates the child, organs, and developed tissues and…

According to WomensCenter.com “One woman dies every 7 minutes around the world due to an unsafe illegal abortion. Women who undergo illegal abortions are those who are very poor and do not have access to family planning facilities for education and prevention of unwanted pregnancies” ("Abortion Statistics”). Nearly 50% of pregnancies are unplanned ones, and 25% of those are aborted. There are close to 42 million abortions a year and 21 million of those are done illegally. Also, about 2% of women who are aged 15-44 have had an abortion. About 88% of abortions are done within the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. A little over half of all abortions performed in the U.S. are done before 8 weeks of pregnancy. “6.7% occur between 13 and 15 weeks, 3.5% occur between 16 and 20 weeks, and 1.1% of abortions occur at 21 weeks or greater.” ("Abortion Statistics”). As you can see here, abortions are very dangerous and can even kill you if it is not done the proper…

For a long time people thought that fetuses aren't capable of feeling pain but we were wrong, fetuses are capable of feeling pain by 9 weeks. Most abortions are performed by the sixth or twelfth week of pregnancy. Women can abort a baby up to 26 weeks. Abortion is legal murder, A child does not deserve to die because the mother and father were…

According to Ory (1993), when abortion was illegal in the United States, most women who were desperate to avoid unwanted childbearing relied on non-medical and unskilled surgeons who performed the procedure under unsanitary conditions. Also, some women had reported that they had inserted catheters and sharp instruments or injected corrosive substances into their wombs. Some even consumed toxic liquids, such as ergot. It is highly recommended that abortions be executed as early as possible, since the threats of mortality increase with weeks of gestation (Ory, 1993). However, now the procedure has…

Abortion is the conclusion of a pregnancy, the ejection of the embryo or fetus. In the beginning of the 1800's abortion was permitted until the mid 1800's it became a subject in which was a strictly legal regulation . For almost 100 years later, in the U.S. jurisdiction, abortion was illegal unless performed by a physician to preserve the mothers life. For Example abortion in Canada is governed by the same legislation and medical standards . It estimated that at least 40% of pregnancies in Canada are unplanned . Apparently about half of these pregnancies end up in abortion. There are a few options in order to obtain an abortion. One of the of the procedure takes place like this, First of all the doctor inserts a slim piece of laminaria which is inserted into the women's cervix. A few hours before the official day of the abortion, the cervix widens the opening .Then the women can be locally or general anesthetize . The doctors widen up the cervix , inserting an aspiration machine, which is similar to the one a dentist use to clear the mouth of saliva. Once the suction stops the doctors makes sure all parts of the embryo and placenta are gone and the uterus is empty and clean. This procedure only takes about 10 minutes. This is just one of the ways to obtain an abortion. Studies show that a single abortion doesn't change the women's ability in order to conceive and have a healthy children in the future. As in long-term psychological effects researchers have found that having an abortion doesn't make women…

Many people believe that morals or ethics should not have any persuasion at all in our laws. Do you believe that slavery is immoral? Is the issue of slavery a moral position? Is the legislation on that moral position appropriate? Then what you have most likely said is that it is appropriate to legislate moral issues that you are in favor of. Should slavery be enforced purely as a moral issue? This is an important point because many people say that we should not force a particular morality on the issue of abortion. Slavery was brought up because it involves human rights, as abortion does also. The question is whether an unborn child is a human being that has the same inalienable rights that a black human being has. This stems the question, "Is abortion murder?" If so then there has been a legal genocide going on in the United States since 1973 with over 40 million victims.…
