ABOUT THE REPORT

Profile of the organization:

Mercantile Bank is a Commercial bank headquartered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It was established on 20 May, 1999 and commenced Commercial banking operation on 2 June, 1999. It is a public Limited company with limited liability under the bank Companies act, 1991. It’s shared are listed in Dhaka Stock Exchange and Chittagong Stock Exchange. The bank provides products and services in retail banking, corporate Finance, Islamic Finance, asset management, equity brokerage and security. Presently the Bank has 75 Branches, including 5 SME / Krishi Branches and two subsidiary companies and Employ around 1,600 Employees. The principle activities of the Bank are to provide all kind of commercial banking activities and encompass a wide range of services including accepting deposits, making loans, discounting bills, conducting money transfer and foreign exchange transactions and performing other related services such as safe keeping, collections, issuing guarantees, acceptances and letters of credit to its customers through its branches in Bangladesh.

As regard the slogan of the bank “Efficiency is our Strength” is not a mere pronouncement but a part of their belief, which will inspire and guide them in there long and arduous journey ahead.

The Bank determined to build a long- term customer relationship with its corporate & general clients. As a part of this, Mercantile Bank ltd. is trying to expand their business with the market leaders of each sector of business. Mercantile Bank ltd. emphasizes not only on customer satisfaction but also emphasizes general banking and credit management system. So that customer can get better service from every site of overall Banking. Mercantile Bank ltd. is always ready to maintain the highest quality services by upgrading banking technology, well management system and applying high standard of Business ethics through its established

It needs only continuous upgrading and customer orientation to be able to avail those opportunities to a broad degree.
