Objective of this course is to equip students with concepts and methods of Business Research. Students will be able to plan, design and carry out business research using scientific methods and to prepare research report(s) / paper (s). The course will provide content with logic of inquiry and necessity for an empirical approach to practice. The process of formulating appropriate research questions and hypotheses, techniques for testing relationships and patterns among variables, methods of data collection, methods to assess and improve validity and reliability of data and measures, and ethics of scientific inquiry will be addressed. The course will help students understand practice through critical examination of methods associated with decision-making, critical thinking, and ethical judgment.
2. Learning Outcomes:
At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
• identify appropriate research topics
• write a research proposal (grants)
• select and define appropriate research problem and parameters
• organize and conduct research (advanced project) in a more appropriate manner
• write a research report and thesis
3. Teaching Methodology:
The teaching will be based on participatory learning. Case studies, experience sharing and real life cases will be extensively used to provide theoretical and conceptual understanding, besides classroom lectures. The emphasis would be on studying conceptual perspectives of organizations and their application through case discussions. Assignments will be given to the students in groups as well as individually
4. Evaluation:
The faculty member will award internal marks out of 20 (12 for Tests and 8 for class participation). The semester examination carrying 80 marks will have two sections A and B. Section A worth 60 marks will have 6 theory questions out of which students will be required to attempt any four questions. Section B
