A person of character is, someone to admire, who sets a good example, who knows the difference between right and wrong. To me no one is good or bad. This is a fact that should be kept in mind when we try to judge a person's overall character. We are all different and complex. I think I show most of the elements a person of good character should show. Not only have I been looked up to and admired, but I try to keep as active as possible (a quality younger students may look up to). Joining different sports, excelling in academics, and joining other extracurricular activities, gives me this opportunity and also demonstrates my reliability. Like a person with a good character I like to help anyone that is in need of a little guidance. I've always been known to make people laugh or feel better when they are down, which seems to me like a person with a great character, and want to better life's sometimes harsh obstacles.…

Character plays a role in who I am and who I seek to be. My parents taught me to be obedient and listen to others. At first, I thought being obedient means to follow rules so you would not get in trouble. In school, I would be the student who always followed the rules: no talking when the teachers talking, clean up after yourself, and finish your work at the proper time. Every year from kindergarten to middle school, I would get recognition…

When most people think of character they often associate it with the idea of having to do the right thing. I on the other hand believe character is more than just doing what is morally righteous. Our experiences, obstacles and most importantly, passion define our true character. Passion establishes the difference between obligation or choice and giving up or persevering. Our actions result from the passion we choose to dedicate towards different aspects of our lives including school, work, extracurricular activities and community service. Everyone values these aspects differently and that is what allows for each of us to have our own unique character. I believe people have a more powerful influence when they have a true sense of passion for what they are doing.…

Character in the Webster’s dictionary is defined as the way someone thinks, feels, and behaves: someone’s personality. Character is the main component in each and every and every living being here on earth. Your character is what can make you or break you. It can carry you to success or take you straight to failure. Because character is so important, JROTC instructors try their best to instill certain morals and values that will give us a character that will take us to success. I feel that character is a large part of life. Luckily, I have two parents that have taught me my morals. Unfortunately, not everyone has had these instilled in their lives. Whenever I get a chance I make sure to help and show other people mine. When my friends are mean to others in school I tell them to treat others how you would like to be treated. As a student of High School I have noticed that there is a lot of bullying, whether by race, religion, ability to learn, or what “group” you are part of. I think this all needs to stop, even though some people may think it’s impossible to stop bullying from happening, I think it is…

Character Building Last Saturday I went to a class that taught me how the build my character and my self esteem. In this class I learned about the six pillars of character which are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Trustworthiness is basically just being honest, be reliable, be loyal, don’t deceive, cheat or steal. All its saying is to have the courage to do the right thing. Respect is something that you have to give before you can get it. So to be respectful you have to always use good manners, never use bad language, and just be considerate of others feelings not just yours. Another pillar of character is fairness. When your responsible and you make decisions you must be accountable for that decision weather the choice you made is right or wrong. The last pillar of character is citizenship which is doing your share to make your school and community a better place. When you have citizenship you cooperate, always be a good neighbor, obey all of the laws and rules of society, respect authority, and protect your environment. Responsibility is one thing you have to earn and isn"tmt just given to you. When you"tmre fair you always play by the rules, take turns, share, be open minded and listen to what other people have to say. Caring is another important part of character, because when you"tmre caring you"tmre kind, you express gratitude, forgive others, help people in need, you"tmre compassionate and show others that you care. The six pillars of character can be be achieved by any who wants it, but in order to achieve this goal a person may have to change the way they live their life a little but that"tms a small price to pay for such a big reward you"tmll earn in the end. With responsibility you do what your suppose to do, use self control, and be self- disciplined. Another to make sure that you are fair is to make sure you don"tmt take advantage of others, and that when something goes wrong not to blame others…
