ACQC Format: What I Learned In My Class

Throughout my freshman year at ACIT, I have learned a lot about myself. In the beginning of the year, I was a horrible writer and didn't enjoy writing at all. Now, we are at the end of the year and I think I’m a somewhat decent writer and I actually don't mind writing as much. After I was taught how to use ACQC format, I believe my paragraphs are more developed and not filled with random things that would get me through my essay. I also now know it’s good to include a quote in your paragraphs and make sure to imbed them so it sounds better. In 8th grade, all of our essays had to be five paragraphs, but as I entered high school I learned it is better to have just enough paragraphs to get your point across. In high school, I have definitely have gotten some harsh criticism about my grammar, vocabulary and spelling, but I hope that throughout my years here at ACIT my grammar, vocabulary, and spelling will improve and make me a better writer. …show more content…
I wasn't so proud about my english grade this year and I know I could have worked harder, but I have always struggled in english. This year taught me not to procrastinate and write an essay the night before it’s due, don’t just read the summaries online when you're told to read a book, and to take time doing your work. I was most definitely proud of my “Where I’m from Poem,” this was our first piece of writing. It described me and my family and where we are from without saying our addresses. When I first got the assignment, I really had to think where I was from besides from 5506 Atlantic Ave. I think that my hardest piece of writing this year, was my dental research

In my practical nursing class, I’ve learned many skills and techniques, but not only to use in the clinical setting, but in my daily life. As a matter of fact, I believe I learned more about myself while in this class than I learned in my whole life. For instance, I learned that I am a huge procrastinator. During my first semester as a college freshman I have grown a lot not only as a student, but also as a person. At first I thought of myself as a good writer, but throughout the semester I learned that I had a lot of improvements to make in my writing. Already I have made a lot of progress and will continue to improve throughout the rest of the year in core. My biggest challenge with Core was learning to think outside the box. This included challenging myself to new ideas that I never considered…

realize that I wasn’t as good of a writer that I thought I was. Throughout the semester, my papers gradually improved in grades, but also in quality. Prior to this semester, I was unaware that visualization was even a thing, and thought that showing not telling was for frivolous floosies who didn’t know how to write anything meaningful. This class has changed my perspective on the importance of imagery and creating a better experience for the reader. The first paper I wrote for this class was the Name…

I have learned a lot in these last nine weeks. I now know more about computers then thought I would ever know. I learned that I need to have a password on my wireless rougher. Without a password anyone can peek into my computer and take any information they want. I also learned how a computer system works, and what's the different between data and information to a computer, and how it processes data into information. One thing I didn’t know is all the different kinds of kinds of operating systems…

As I began this course it was the one I was dreading the most. For as long as I remember I have been told my writing is terrible. As I began this course I realized it was not that I was bad at writing, it was the fact that I did not know correct mechanics or grammar and did not take it serious enough. I have learned so many new techniques and have improved as a writer. Although I will not say I love writing, I do not hate it. Within this class my best effort was for the personal narrative. I say…

difficult for me when I was younger, mainly because the great ideas I had in my head would not sound so great when I wrote them down on paper. It would sound so perfect to me, yet didn’t make any sense to someone else. Also, I dislike writing for the simple fact that there are a lot of rules to it. Throughout my high school years, I was a poor writer, and it came to my attention in my English 1101 class last year. I failed it the first time, because of not knowing how to get my thoughts to come together…

this English class, I’ve realized that this was a very differently structured class than any other class that I have already previously taken. This class pushed me to step out of my comfort zone with writing, striving me to be better every day of class. From reviewing and reading my day one essay I’ve truly realized I have come a long ways away from my first day here in class, and that I have even longer ways to go getting better. I see the improvements I’ve accomplished from rereading my day one essay…
