ABC Family's Black-Ish Character Analysis
The television show that I chose to analyze aired in 2014 and is ABC Family's newest hit series title Black-ish. Based on the title, the - ish in Blackish can be deciphered to mean somewhat. Judging from the family photo one can conclude from an observational standpoint that the series is to being a comedic series of African-American dilemmas and stereotypical puns centered around a black family that exhibits somewhat black behavior. The series success is based on the daily life of the Johnsons and upper middle-class suburban family. The show was piloted based on ethics and family value.

Krakauer wrote that Chris McCandless was, "green, and he overestimated his resilience, but was sufficiently skilled to last for sixteen weeks on a little more than his wits and ten pounds of rice"(Krakauer 182). In this quote it seems that Krakauer thought that McCandless was well equipped with his skills, so that made moderately prepared to survive in any situation. I feel that McCandless was rather prepared, yet again he never could have been fully prepared for the unexpected. My opinion is that McCandless was vaguely aware of the struggles that he would encounter in the Alaskan wilderness such as his epiphany that "happiness is only real when shared" was realized when his body was dying of starvation. I believed that he found what he was…

My impression of Dr. Brown is that he wants better for himself and fellow African American people. Dr. Brown is on a tour speaking to negro in churches of a run down community. This tells me that Dr. Brown is courageous and trying to inspire his peers to take action. Also, Dr. Brown is very confident in himself because he considers himself to be “A man of some prestige”. Lastly, Dr. Brown appears to be a very strong protagonist of education because he works very hard to be educated and he eventually becomes a Professor.…

The Book of Negroes is a six-part drama relating an African woman's pursuit for freedom after years of enslavement. It views historical events and the sins of slavery through a representative and often sobering lens but have a habit of focusing on the main character's strength and resilience rather than on the terrors of her fights. You'll see fierce performances such as assaults, murders, and thumping with some bloodshed, along with pretend sex (including implicit rapes). You also hear the use of "N" word throughout the series I give it an 8/10. My ranking would have been higher if season 1 was a bit longer.…

Issa Rae has always been an awkward girl; she’s always worn the wrong pants, kissed the wrong boy, and felt the wrong way, or simply been the wrong girl. The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl is a dazzling collection of essay about growing up learning to love the things in your life that makes it unique, even when those things also make it mighty awkward. She writes about being a black girl who just cannot dance, about being unhappy working in cubicle as her web series was taking off, about not arriving at a personal fashion sense, about honest, insightful, and laugh-out-loud funny and of course arrestingly awkward. One of the best books I ever read was “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl” written by Issa Rae; it is the best because it tackles subjects like the misadventures of the internet, her being black and growing up watching television.…

In Black is… Black Ain’t, the main character use this film to address issues of race, sexuality, racism, and tradition, while dealing with his own personal issue of having AIDS. Many prominent figures in the black community in the past and today have been known to address the matters of other no matter what they have going on personally. In the film, black tradition and black masculinity are two themes that stood out to me the most. Tradition and masculinity were two things in targeting the blacks that were brought over during the slavery time period, which were known to make our ancestors weak.…
