A Voluptuary In The Horrors Of Digestion
In 1792 James painted a portrait called, “A Voluptuary in the Horrors of Digestion.” A voluptuary is someone who overindulges in pleasurable things. In this painting it shows, a Prince sitting on a fancy chair after eating a large meal. This Prince will someday be King. In order to be a good king they must have the following things, he must be ambitious, honest, and good with money. For the following reasons this Prince is not ready to be King.

First, the king must be ambitious. Being ambitious means the person won’t be lazy. In the case, the Prince is lazy. He has an overflowing chamber pot sitting right next to the table he’s eating at. Usually when people go to the bathroom they don’t do it right by the table they go into the bathroom. He also has a table full of food in front of him that he has not picked up, he expects someone else to do it for him. As a rule, most people pick up their own dishes and don’t expect someone else to do it.

When being honest, you should tell the truth and not lie. This Prince is not honest. He hasn’t returned the people’s money from when he borrowed it possibly from gambling. He has a book on the floor of all the names he owes money to. Usually when people owe money to someone they pay it back as soon as they can.

Next, Some may argue that the prince is good with money because he has a luxurious house and expensive clothes on. However, The house he is sitting in and the clothes he’s wearing might not be his, someone might have given him the clothes and the house he is sitting in might be someone else’s.

The king should be good with money, he isn’t. The King should be good with money because they have to know how to use it to run the country. The prince has a book of names of the people he owes money to sitting right next to dice on the floor. If someone has dice and owes people money that usually means they are a

The stomach is an organ that mixes food and secretes gastric juice. The bolus, once in the stomach, is mixed into a semiliquid mass called chime. The stomach is close together with the liver and pancreas but does not get assistance from these organs. The chime then enters…

The title of king itself supplies the bearer with too much power for which one man can hold. "All Men are created equal." He had none that denied him of any of his wants and desires, whether personally or politically. A ruler must only be able to derive their "Powers from the Consent of the Governed," of which the king had none. Wise rulers must surround themselves with those they trust. The best rulers truly represent their people.…
