The three young girls who disappeared were Michelle Knight was 21 years of age, Amanda Berry 17 years old and Gina de Jesus only 14 years old. The first victim to be kidnapped by Ariel Castro was Michelle Knight. She went missing on August of 2002. It was believed she had voluntarily runaway due to the loss of a child custody case and being that she was an adult, adults do have the right to go missing if they want to. Sadly fifteen months after her disappearance, her name was taken off the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database and the authorities stopped looking for her. Consequently, this will happen to many people, whether it is because they are inexperienced, naïve, or because they choose to make the wrong decisions or choices.
