A Short Story Of Dwayne's Pet Cobra
To tell the story of Dwayne's pet Cobra I must go back to when he was just a child. Dwayne was raised in a poor household and he didn’t have much. He had a very turbulent home life but he was resilient. Dwayne had a sweet disposition and was an avid fans of animals. One day when he was walking through the woods he saw a movement in a bush, he was electrified with excitement. Dwayne pivoted towards the sound. He thought what it could be a rabbit, a squirrel, or just a little frog whatever it was imperative that he have it as a pet. He went behind the bush and saw after a cursory examination that it was actually a giant King Cobra. He never had a friend so he didn't know how to make friends. He only had seen movies so he went gingerly into

It gave a breathtaking picture of the story. With an edge of your seat beginning, the video showed Rikki-Tikki being swept away by a flood. A family saves him. The two cobras, Nag and Nagaina, want to take over the garden. They plan to kill the family, and then force Rikki-Tikki to leave. This is the same problem in the other medium. Unlike the book, the movie shows the cobras having a short conversation about their plan to kill the family. After the conversation, Nag goes into the bathroom and waits. Though Nag is still awake, Rikki-Tikki leaps on top of him and tries to kill him. He is thrown around, again, but still kills Nag. The father came in with a big gun and shot Nag. Now that Nag is dead, Nagaina must kill the family herself. Rikki-Tikki stops her by killing her eggs, and taunting her with the last one. Nagaina slithers to her hole, and Rikki-Tikki is close behind. Once they both were in the hole, Rikki-Tikki kills Nagaina. This scene is very overwhelming because of the background music and image. The movie of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi has a very similar, but lively, problem, climax, and…

Rusty Van Wert and Caleb Snow went over to a terrarium. Rusty reached into the cage to grab and hold a non-venomous yellowbelly water snake, which had been caught in the wild and identified by his biology teacher. His eyes were lit up with joy to be holding this snake. He had a very big smile on his face and could not appear to be any happier in that moment. The snake was then handed off to Caleb, who had never held a snake before. Caleb squeezed the snake pretty hard which made it start squirming and twisting and just going crazy. Caleb’s eyes showed fear. His whole body was frantically trying to control this 2.5 foot long snake and get it back into the cage. Sweat started to run down his cheeks and drip onto his shirt. He was very nervous and still trying to put the snake back into the cage when he got bit. He yanked his arm away very quickly and immediately let go of the snake.…

Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling is a very good story. The excerpt is about a Mongoose who is determined to kill the three snakes in the garden and save his family. The author claims that Rikki-tikki is a very curious and brave creature. It is also very hard to frighten Rikki-Tikki because mongoose’s are “eaten up from noose to tail with curiosity.” According to Kipling, Rikki-Tikki wound up in “the middle of a garden path” when a high summer flood washed him out of the burrow that he lived in. He met two cobras, Nag and Nagaina, he knew he had to kill them for the safety of his family and friends. The father in the story was almost killed by Nag in the bathtub but Rikki-Tikki came to the rescue and killed Nag first.…

He was emotionless, lending only blank, uncaring stares as they traversed the wooded areas to the spire. Matthiu was more beside himself. The unending call for the dagger - the way he described it - was the insatiable need told through far-off whispers that slipped like bells tolling.…

    Snake Handling

Snake handling is a religious ritual in a small number of Pentecostal churches in the U.S., usually characterized as rural and part of the Holiness movement. The practice began in the early 20th century in Appalachia, spreading to mostly coal mining towns. The practice plays only a small part of the church service of churches that practice snake handling. Most religious snake handlers are still found in the Appalachian Mountains of the southeastern United States, especially in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Ohio. However, they are gaining greater recognition from news broadcasts, movies and books about the non-denominational movement. In 2001 there were about 40 small churches that practiced snake handling, most of them considered to be holiness-Pentecostals. Some of the leaders in these churches have been bitten numerous times; some of the leaders in these churches have been bitten numerous times, as indicated by their distorted extremities. Hensley himself, the founder of modern snake handling in the Appalachian Mountains, died from fatal snakebite in 1955. In 1998, snake-handling evangelist John Wayne "Punkin" Brown died after being bitten by a timber rattler at the Rock House Holiness Church in rural northeastern Alabama. Members of his family contend that his death was probably due to a heart attack. The states of Alabama, Kentucky and Tennessee have passed laws against the use of venomous snakes and/or other reptiles in a place that endangers the lives of others, or without a permit. The Kentucky law specifically mentions religious services; in Kentucky snake handling is a misdemeanor and punishable by a $50 to $250…

Her optimism shows during this because even in such a bad situation that could have been a deadly situation, she talks about him in such a heroic way. As Jim and Antonio are on their way back to tell the others the exciting snake story, Jim describes Antonio. "As she rode along slowly, her bare legs swinging against the ponies sides, she kept shouting back to me about how astonished everybody would be. Her exultation was contagious." Antonio's loyalty is especially shown through not only to Cather but to her family and friends. Antonio was asked about attending school so that she can learn so much more than what Jim had taught her. As Jim approached her with this she said, " I ain't got time to learn. I can work like mans now. School is alright for little boys. I help make this land one good farm." Antonio was loyal to everything and everyone she knew even if it meant sacrificing things she wanted in life. She was a very hard worker and was loyal to making anything she did a success. An additional characteristic of Antonio that Cather had was the admiration that never ended even at the end of the story. Jim tells Antonio, " Since I've been away, I think of you more often than anyone…

Well, the story goes like this; A family in New York decides to relent to their children’s requests for alligator pets. This, of course, is a terrible idea. The family either releases them into the sewers in purpose, or the gators escaped, depending on who you ask. Either way, there’s now a bunch of alligators in the New York sewers, striking fear into the hearts of the waste management service. How about ‘twinkle twinkle little star’? More people are on board with that. We’ve all heard the song.…
