Finally, I climbed up Monks Mound. It was incredible how far you could see. The mound takes up fourteen acres alone. There were so many stairs that I could not imagine how the Mississippians would have climbed it daily. It would be amazing to be able to see the view without all the distant buildings that have now been built. I cannot imagine the back- breaking work it took to create this unnatural mound of earth.…

The mountains were stone dark, secured with trees whose hues were a blend of woodsy cocoa, knoll, key lime, and margarita green. Scattered powder-puff mists gradually fled over the sky and the sun feed like a bolt. Seeing this made me feel like I inadvertently touched base to paradise. I breath gradually, attempting to recall each snapshot of me being encompassed by woodland, sky, and mountains. We began climbing the gigantic mountain, talking, grinning and chuckling together. After like an hour we sat down for a moment on an immense uneven and dusty rock close to the waterfall. The wind that blew through the trees into our confronts now conveyed a light sprinkle from the waterfall, and a clue of peace. The sound of the wind shrieking, the waterfall smashing against the stones and the fowls singing their wonderful tunes, made me feel considerably more joyful than I was at that point. We began moving to the top once more. My legs began to hurt yet I didn't give an indication of my torment. I raised my eyes to the sky, and my sight fell on the hawk who skimmed over the wind. At that time, I craved flying as well, over the mountains and over the oceans. I strolled slower now, thinking how brilliant it would be to fly, and the greater part of the…

The wooden sign has seen many moons, weathered down and carved into by the many travelers that visit the park annually. Soon after passing the sign, the terrain becomes slightly elevated. Your feet slowly tread through the coffee-brown dirt. The natural light from the heartwarming sun fades as the woods engulfs your body, forcing you to travel the cold, treacherous, one-way uphill hike. The setting now has an eerie tone due to the thick mist like atmosphere. Your lower body carrying your weight slowly becomes numb as your energy fades from the physically demanding voyage. When all was lost, dark mustard-yellow leaves release the smell of petrichor, revitalizing the soul as you attempt progress uphill. The light you once saw gradually becomes more prevalent. Your body screams for the warmth of the beloved sunlight, as you reach the…

After hoping the fence to get to the trail to begin the ridged hike, birds chirped and you could occasionally hear a branch break deep in the woods. Walking up the narrow hill through the deep forest was my favorite thing in the world. I felt free and had no worry in the world. And the view at the top of the mountain was even better. The beginning of the hike for probably a mile is a very calm and nice walk, but it starts to incline more and more from their. The trail opens up to huge clear cuts. through one of the clear cuts is a perfect view of Enumclaw. as you pass the clear cuts the trail begins to narrow again. The trail begins to become very steep and lesser of a trail. Cutting through harsh terrain for s short time that led to the last…

I had begun to walk around this new environment. As I walked further down the walkway the sounds that surrounded me began to get louder. It even got to the point where I couldn’t even hear myself think. I had decided to turn on the next corner to see if I could find out what the entire racket was about and as soon as I did it was like I had entered this whole different world. There was so much going on. There was this huge round thing in the middle and these things just came in and out of it. They looked almost if though they were having a race to get to finish line before they ran out of energy. They really had got my heart pumping.…

Next, we started maneuvering up the trail as slow as a group of sloths, dodging rocks and keeping the horses back from the delicious juicy grass that they so desperately wanted. We reached the end of the trail for beginners and looked up to see a ginormous mountain, tall as a 7-story building. It had recently rained a bit, and the rocks we were about to climb up were slick from the water that had run downhill the…

We choosed J. Co because it was one of the fastest growing doughnut store here in Manila. According to Saco (2013) “J. Co came here in the Philippines on March 16, 2012, that is almost a year and a half and it has gathered the attention of the consumers and I think that’s the greatest achievement the we have achieved.” It is truly amazing that they had achieved a lot in that short-period of time that’s why we had chosen it. J. Co was originally from Jakarta, Indonesia it was built by Johnny Andrean, a hairstylist and a businessman. J. Co means “Johnny and company” because he has lots of businesses in Indonesia. We can say that J. Co is a successful business because a lot of people wait in line just to get some their doughnuts and it was featured many times on televisions. Saco also added that the looks of their doughnuts have played a role on attracting their target market. We also know that Andrean is a hairstylist so almost all of the doughnuts they sell are appealing to the eyes and have a class. Their doughnuts are also hand-made and the materials that they use goes to a quality test to give the consumer a unique taste. We can see these in their best-selling doughnut “Alcapone”, it was named before the most-wanted gangster in America, it is a ring donut with chocolate garnished with almonds. The other factor that makes them different from other doughnut businesses is that if you buy 2 dozens you can actually save than buying their 1 dozen or only 1 donut. Plus, the name of their business contributes in attracting their business target because they have received different praises from their customers giving them the identity and popularity that they now have. Those people who doesn’t know what brand of doughnut to buy will refer or asks to those who frequently buys doughnuts or search the web for answers so the brand name does play a great role. J. Co doughnuts also maintain the quality of their doughnuts, specially their best-selling, and often create new…

I walk along the edge of the babbling brook as it winds its way downstream through the forest, the shallow water weaving around small rocks and splashing over the occasional twig. Suddenly the trees separate, as if a curtain has been opened, and what I see directly in front of me takes my breath away. The flowing brook has unexpectedly led me to a waterfall in the most amazing way. The water carried from the…

My secret hideaway is actually an abandoned hut about 3km in the jungle behind my home. Whenever I have the urge to go on my therapeutic trip, I usually leave in the morning. After packing my haversack with bottles of water, some food, books and other essential items such as a machete and torchlight, I set off with a spring in my steps. I like the early morning walk through the jungle; the air is crisp and invigorating. The gloom provided by the jungle canopy is punctuated by beams of sunlight. I have often stopped and stared at the magical vision that has never felt to me in awe.…
