A Comparison Of Bravery In Street Pharm And The Sniper

First of all when I was younger there was this dog that was very vicious. One day it had started chasing my cousin; it was about to bite him so I pushed my cousin out of the way. I then drew the dog’s attention towards myself and got my cousin away from the dog. I outran the dog almost getting bit a good amount of times. By risking myself getting bitten by the dog to help my younger cousin out I was showing bravery. Ty from Street Pharm and the IRA sniper from “The Sniper” show the trait bravery through never showing their fear and always fighting for their survival. For example Ty from Street Pharm shows the trait bravery through never showing fear and fighting for his life all for the family business. To start off Ty is brought into the police station because he is accused of being a hustler. “If they bring ya in, don’t sweat it. Stay cool and stick to yo’ story (Van Diepen 153).” This quote reveals that by Ty not showing fear he is not giving the cops any reason to believe he is guilty. One more example is when Ty’s best friend is killed so he goes to visit his dad in jail who started the business. “The business. Everything. I’m out ( Van Diepen 273).” This quote reveals that Ty realizes the reality of the drug business and wants out. By leaving the business and facing his father especially since most people don’t make it out of the business alive; Ty shoes bravery. Finally the character trait bravery is best shown by Ty from Street Pharm and the IRA Sniper from “The Sniper”. Ty risks his life and freedom for the drug business while the IRA sniper makes drastic decisions and risks his life for his own survival.
