A Career As A Veterinarian
Ever since I was a child I knew exactly what I wanted to succeed in life as, a veterinarian. It’s just that I’ve always been so fond in animals and care for them very deeply. I want to help and be able to rescue every single one of those animals who are in need. See, a vet is a professional who practices veterinary medicine by treating diseases, disorders and injuries in animals. There are veterinarians who assist small animals and others who work with large animals. As for me, I would like to treat small animals. I am confident that one day I will be saving as many animals and pets as possible. But for that, first I must go to college and get a major in biology. Veterinarians prevent and and treat illnesses and injuries in animals. They might specialize in a type of veterinary medicine, such as surgery, or a group of animals. Their responsibility consist of diagnosing patients, prescribing medicine, performing surgery, giving vaccinations, and providing health care recommendations to pet owners. They may also conduct research in areas such as biomedical sciences. Veterinarians often work very long hours, and may make themselves available for emergency situations. To become a veterinarian one must complete a bachelor's degree program, earn a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, become licensed, gain experience, become certified in a speciality, and join a …show more content…
Therefore one must really get it together and learn everything there is to know about animals and everything that comes included. Becoming a vet takes a lot of dedication and ambition because it’s not easy, but if the mind is set up to it one can achieve with no problem whatsoever.     When being a vet they need to be able to read results correctly so they don’t make a mistake, they need to be able to write the results down to keep track of the animals health and condition. When speaking to the owners of the pets they need to be clear and to the point about what they are doing to the animal or what they are going to do to the pet. A vet has to be thinking clearly to realize that they may react to the treatment and they also need to worry about the animal that is in front of them not one that is recovering from a surgery. They will have to able to adapt to the animals condition and help the animal like obesity. To help that they need to recommend a different kind of diet.
