9/11 True Narrative
New York, New York! I am finally done with high school and can enjoy a relaxing vacation with my best friend. “The stories of this place are so cool!” Said Octavia. “I know! Like the one about Philippe Petit, the guy who walked across the Twin Towers on a steel cable!” I told her(Abbott 10). We arrived at our hotel room at 8:30 am, and we had a tour of the city at 9. We had to start getting ready. “Our room has a balcony!” Yelled Octavia. The view was breathtaking. Every gust of wind that hit my face made me want to live in New York forever. It was 8:40, and I hadn’t even started getting ready because I was taking in the view. “Look,” I said to Octavia. We both turned around to take a glimpse at the beautiful Twin Towers when at 8:46 a plane …show more content…
When we got back, we took time to relax and follow the news. As we sat there, we had to listen to horrific facts about this event. They told us that approximately 3,000 people had lost their lives(Friedman 51) 9/11 caused 1,600 extra deaths due to traffic accidents(Kick ass facts). The news reporter broke the news that in the North Tower 1,402 people died, in the South Tower 614 people died, in Flight 11 ninety-two people died, in the United Airlines Flight sixty five people died, 345 firefighters/ paramedics and sixty police were killed(O’Keefe 18). As soon as I heard that, I broke down in …show more content…
The hijackers were led by Mohamed Atta(Friedman 46). He had a PHD in City Planning, which probably made it a little easier to train his people(Abbott 18). The name of the terrorist group that Mohamed led, and the ones who attacked was al-Queda(Friedman 44).
They started talking about how there had been many failed terrorist attack attempts(Friedman 43). The government paid on average of 1.8 million dollars to the families of 9/11 victims(Kick ass facts). The news channel went on to say that the only off duty officer who died that day was filling out his retirement papers when the attack started(Kick ass facts). Something that stuck out to me in the report was that a Muslim community collected 11,170 pints of blood for injured people(Kick ass facts).
Finally, Bush made a speech. He said that he was sorry that he couldn’t do anything earlier, and he had to watch the news channels on 9/11 in an empty classroom(O’Keefe 7). He said that this was the hardest thing that he has ever had to do, especially when he had only been President for eight months(O’Keefe 15). He ended his speech with, “9/11 was the deadliest terrorist attack the U. S has ever faced in history(Friedman

The Conspiracy: 9/11 The day of September 11th, 2001 the world witnessed with disbelief as the World Trade Center in New York City came crashing down. The shock the attacks generated and the some 3,000 or more people it killed made it one of the brutal attacks in history. One may only wonder how such a grand scaled attack could be carried through. Although controversial, evidence suggests that the September 11th attacks in 2001 were an inside job and the statements of the Bush administration following them were a fabricated truth that many people believed. Unfortunately the tragic event has scarred the lives of many people globally and changed the course of the near future.[1]…

September 11, 2001: Conspiracy or Not? What if everything one was supposed to believe was wrong? What if the people who are supposed to protect citizens from danger, do not? What if 9/11, the most tragic day in American history, was caused by the people we are supposed to respect and we are supposed and to believe, our government? Could our government have masterminded this horrific crime? Actually, I believe they did. In August 1997, on the front cover of FEMA’s, The Federal Emergency Management Agency, Emergency Response to Terrorism Manual it shows the World Trade Center towers in the cross hairs, sights used for aiming a gun or missile for accuracy, and then again in June 2000, the Department of Justice released a world terrorism handbook featuring the twin towers also in the cross hairs on the front cover (Loose Change 2nd Edition). I believe that the government has had this planned or contemplated this action since August of 1997.…

Was 9/11 An Inside Job? September 11, 2001 holds a special place in almost every American’s heart, as well as those of families in other countries who lost a loved one that day. Not only is Sept. 11th the bloodiest terrorist attack in the history of the nation, several groups of people within our own country and abroad believe that knowledge of this attack was held prior to the actual event. What has been reported and believed was that two airplanes crashed into the Twin Towers in New York City, and one airplane into the Pentagon. Different conspiracy theories have developed on the internet, and several websites claim to have legitimate cases regarding the validity of the “true” story. These claims are nothing less than a slap in the face of some thousands of Americans who risked their lives to remove others from harms way. The true story, however, is one of pain and suffering that my fellow citizens and I share.…

Cheney begins by stating that the attacks of September 11th were by far the worst attacks on America but were certainly not the first. He lists several terrorist attacks that occurred on and off American soil that resulted in the deaths American citizens and military personnel (Cheney). Among them, he mentions one of the most infamous tragedies in American history by saying, “We had just been hit by a foreign enemy—leaving 3000 Americans dead, more than we lost at Pearl Harbor” (Cheney). Cheney is implying that enhanced interrogation was the necessary response to the 9/11 attacks, just as America’s commitment to World War II after Pearl Harbor. Throughout the rest of the article, Chaney continues to deliver numerous facts, each one expanding his argument. However, Cheney’s greatest argument is found in the emotion that he evokes from the…

Hearing the event from the perspective of a person who wasn’t directly affected or near the crash introduces a whole new type of experience. People, who like my parents, only received notice of the crash because of a family member they had no idea was in any kind of danger. My parents, at the time, weren’t aware of the importance of the Twin Towers or this possibility of a new worry of terrorism. They were able to be reassured simply by the fact that every loved one in the U.S then was okay. This particular perspective added to my knowledge of the personal experiences of the event, how the impact of the event can immediately increase because of a loved one being involved. Another detail from the interview that added to my knowledge was my mom…

The September 11 attacks were a series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States. On the morning of the attacks 19 of Al-Qaeda’s terrorists hijacked four jet airliners. The hijackers then crashed two of the airliners into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, killing everyone on board and many of those who were working in the buildings. Both of the buildings collapsed within two hours of the collisions. Because of the collapse nearby buildings were damaged, even destroyed. The hijackers crashed the third airplane into the Pentagon which is located in Arlington, Virginia. The fourth plane was crashed into a field near Shanksville in Pennsylvania after some of its passengers attempted to retake control of the plane. Unfortunately…

The fourth plane was said to be heading for the White House or the U.S. Capitol. However, heroic passengers had stopped the hijackers and crash-landed the plane in an empty field in Pennsylvania. If it weren’t for those courageous passengers who decided to do something, things would have gone much worse. At approximately 5:20 pm, World Trade Center Building 7 had collapsed due to the heavy debris that had hit the building. The other four buildings were damaged. George W. Bush had stated after the attacks that, “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America.” He was right. After the attacks, Americans were closer than they had ever been. People helped strangers on the street and everybody felt the emptiness in their heart because of all the losses on one day. The attacks were financed by Osama bin Laden who attacked in retaliation of the United States support of Israel. Some of the terrorist involved had been in the country for more than a year and others slipped in before 9/11. They had taken flying lessons and chose those specific planes because they help great amounts of…

September 11, 2001 (Also known as 9/11) is more traumatic than any other event in American history because unlike events like the civil war or the world wars, it was totally unexpected. While the government did know that al-Qaeda held a serious hatred towards America, no one could 've guessed that such a large scale attack would 've been carried out against innocent civilians.
