9/11: The Twin Towers And The Pentagon
On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 hijackers took control of four commercial airplanes. Two of the plane were flown into the Twin Towers, and the third was crashed into the Pentagon. However, the fourth did not reach his target, supposedly heading towards the capital. It is said that the passengers and crew overpowered the terrorists and took back control over the plane. In spite of that, the aircraft crashed in Pennsylvania, killing everyone on it. The purpose of hitting this targets were that the Twin Towers were widely considered to be symbols of America’s power and influence, while the Pentagon is the headquarters of the US Department of Defense.
