9/11 Terrorism Essay
On September 11th, 2001, the world changed in the matter of seconds. America was brought to their knees, with tears. Four planes were taken over by Islamic terrorists on suicide missions targeting the United States. One plane crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, another hit the Pentagon right outside of Washington DC. While the other two planes crashed into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. This was a day that would go down in American history as one of the worst terrorist attacks to happen on American soil. This attack will be the one that will always be remembered and never forgotten.

At first no one knew what was happening, they only seen the smoke coming out of the building. While all the news stations were tuning into the same spot, a second plane hit the other twin tower. Then the realization hits the citizens of America. They hear the words “A second plane has just hit the World Trade Center”, “this is an act of terrorism”, broadcast over every news station and radio. People tune in from everywhere, some watch it from televisions in their living rooms, workplaces, and schools. Others stand outside and watch the horrific act unwind. Being a child watching this unfold on the television, I did not understand a lot of what was going on. I looked around and seen all the adults crying. I understood what the adults meant when they said, “people are dying”, it just did not affect me the way it had as I got older. As I got older, it killed me knowing how these innocent men and women had died. It hurt seeing the families outside of the buildings who knew that their loved ones were stuck inside and they were unable to do anything to help. Knowing that it would take possibly weeks to go through the rubble to find the lost family members.
