On September 11, 2001, terrorists hijacked four passenger planes. Two of the planes were flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. One plane crashed into the Pentagon building in Arlington, VA. The last plane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. It was by far the worst terrorist attack on American soil.

The New York Times reported that around the time of 8:20 am air traffic controllers reported suspected a hijacking (wanttoknow.info), to their surprise there was a hijacking happening. About 30 minutes later Flight 11 crashed into the World Trade Centre, and just a couple minutes later Flight 175 crashes into the south side of the World Trade Center (wanttoknow.info) killing innocent people. Innocent bystanders standing around in such shock at what just happened, Flight 77 crashes into the west side of the Pentagon building trying to strike out the U.S military killing 125 military personnel and 64 passengers on the plane (history.com). Flight 93 leaving from New Jersey had a delay the passengers on board was able to use their phones so heard of the crash in New York and Pentagon, hearing of the event going on and realizing that the plane wasn’t landing at the nearest airport they figured they were on a hijacked plane so passengers took it upon themselves to try and stop the hijack. 10:10 am Flight 93 crashes in a field in Pennsylvania all passengers on that flight died (history.com)

Today our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts…” from this day forward the way of living has changed in America. Everything from traveling to walking into a office building has changed, it is very important to have some form of ID on you at all times, when traveling there is an extreme list of items that you can and can not bring on the plane an security is really tight after the attack.

    The September 11 attacks were a series of suicide attacks by Al-Qaeda upon the United States. On the morning of the attacks 19 of Al-Qaeda’s terrorists hijacked four jet airliners.
