Although 50 Cent dropped out of school, he went to a prison boot camp and earned his high school equivalency. 50 Cent started rapping when he was in high school. He based his raps off past experiences and looked up to other rappers for inspiration ("50 Cent Biography"). 50 Cent came to be know worldwide for his song Get Rich or Die Tryin' earned five Grammy nominations in 2004 and went on to sell more than twelve million copies worldwide (Brown). Ben Carson's mom forced Ben to read and become more efficient in school. She made him and his brother read two books a week and write a summary for them. Ben then carried on the success of school and went to Yale University. He attended medical school and became a neurosurgeon. 50 Cent and Ben Carson both reached their goals by pursing them.
