College is a start of your new educational career and by earning good grades or securing a letter of recommendation, it will help make a student successful in furthering their college career. Getting good grades in community college is a must. If your goal is to transfer to a University or a Cal State you need a high G.P.A. and strong letter of recommendations, which will increase your chances of being accepted. The five tips Scholnik’s article ultimately is a small guide of that helps students be successful in their college achievements. Through a student’s hard work and respectful effort, the professor will recognize these efforts which will guarantee a student’s success.

The 5 basic tips Jorie Scholnik provides is simple yet effective in so many ways. My favorite quote and what I thought was most important from this article is when Jorie Scholnik said “It is the students responsibility to look at the course syllabus” because the syllabus contains all the information you’ll need to know about the class such as homework, exam dates, and also what will be taught the day of class. The syllabus acts like a contract between the student and professor. I really enjoyed reading this article and overall thought it was very helpful towards college students.
