Bond girls by “exploiting textual fissures and gaps that contradict the logic of masculinity or patriarchy”, while, in “James Bond’s
Penis”, Toby Miller argues that the old boy, especially as represented by Sean Connery, is not just a gun-toting Lothario, but a more vulnerable prototype for the “commodified male beauty” of our own time.
It is plain, then, that all human Bondage is here, and fascinating it is, too. Unfortunately, the book as a whole is a little enslaved to fashionable theories: there is nothing biographical on Fleming the man, and how he reflected, and diverged from, his creation. This matters because this enigmatic writer shared a number of his hero’s qualities, including the fascination with fast cars, the plummy belief in Britain’s imperial mission, which had taken such a bashing after the Second World War, and the Old Etonian urge to glitter and dominate. The outlook is dandified, in fact, and some readers will miss any wider consideration of the issue, or any deeper thinking on how Bond develops the world of Richard Hannay, or even Sherlock Holmes (Moriarty versus Bond; it makes emotional sense).
These issues are touched on, admittedly, but the most thorough essay on Bond’s literary roots is, ironically, old material.
As one of the opening salvos of the collection, Lindner reprints
Umberto Eco’s influential “Narrative Structures in Fleming”, first published in the 1960s. Here, this seminal figure shows how Book
Bond is not merely a matter of

James Bond has been around for over 50 years. Created in 1953, he provides many opportunities to study popular perceptions of intelligence, particularly covert operations and human intelligence. Signals intelligence does not play a big role in the novels and films. As mentioned earlier, spy fiction aims to be realistic and picks villains and adventures that correspond with the political threats of its time. The adventures that Bond is facing over the years show the changing images and attitudes of Britain and the US in world…

While mid-aged woman are the dominant readers of this book, they do not view erotica as pornography, such as in a video. It is rather a reading and visual conception. Which could deem it as socially acceptable upon the female aspect of pornography. Therefore concluding these books to be an escape from the “norm” of sexual activities and everyday life. The book being an untraditional love story, still possesses qualities of a romance while “shocking and intriguing” (Steele, 2013) the general readers. E.L. Fifty shades of Gray is no literary masterpiece, nor does it hide some life changing meaning between its pages, although this could be debatable. My interest was aroused when I started reading various comments on the book and how “hideous” it is. I am a person who usually enjoys literature and art, that is trashed by others, who tries to find a meaning behind a simple dot on a painting, subsequently when all this uproar was caused I just had to read the book. When I realized it was a British novel, I decided to use it for my WID. Of course this was even more challenging since this book has not been previously analyzed and also is far from anything introduced in an academic environment. I have been accused of overanalysing and attributing meaning behind un-meaningful material. I object to this, since I believe that just because the writer did not mean to deliberately say certain things, it does not mean that his subconscious does not actually write them for him. I must agree with the critics on one thing though, that the writing is poor with a lot of useless repetition and very elementary use of the language. Nevertheless it touches upon some of my favourite themes, which are female sexuality, power, and politics.…

A survey of 60 managers was conducted in Lagos, Nigeria and some psychological measures were administered to them. The results show that managers attribute strategic decisions on personnel, market leadership and customers’ loyalty to effort, ability and nature of the task. Managers with personality traits of extraversion and conscientiousness show similar pattern of finding. The study concludes that inter causes of attributions principally serve as basis for strategic decision making. The implications of the study are also discussed.
