2nd Platoon Reflection
While it is a shame that you will be unable to join me on the field at graduation, I understand that the “needs of the Navy” call and more importantly that your further immersion in the Naval service takes precedence. I have enjoyed becoming acquainted with you this past year. It seems like just yesterday your class arrived on Induction Day ready and willing to embark on the challenges ahead. Your class’s zeal at the time was contagious and helped to motivate and inspire myself and the other detailers to always go the extra mile in order to train you all to the best of our abilities. Plebe summer is still the most enjoyable training I have participated in while at USNA and I would highly encourage that you seek to become a detailer in 2nd Platoon

    1. Col. Robert Shaw: In glory, Col. Robert Shaw can be seen as the abolitionist for several reasons. He fought for fair treatment a pay for the regiment by tearing up his paycheck and demanding shoes and socks. His parents were also well-known abolitionists. Unlike the other black Col. he treated his troops equally an expected them to behave as well as the whit troops. Finally he was Barrie's with the 54th Mass. Regiment much like he would of wanted. An example of my experience regarding the critical skill of application is during my time as Incident Commander overseeing the security operations for a high profile federal court trial in Laredo, Texas. The security mission was called “Operation Laredo II”. The development of an operational security plan for a high profile trial at a United States Federal Courthouse positioned geographically less than one hundred and fifty yards from the Mexican border can be a challenge. When that trial entails dealing with one of the most powerful and influential drug cartels on the southern border known as Los Zetas, the challenges become critical. The Mexican drug cartel Los Zetas is comprised of former Mexican military soldiers who were originally hired…

My experience as an MFT Trainee consisted of working with the below poverty level population. The mental health status varied from a wide variety of psychosocial and emotional factors that contributed to specific diagnosis, which also included substance abuse/use. Clients of different cultures and languages would arrive to a clinic, feeling unsure about sharing their personal struggles and not knowing what to expect from the evaluating therapist. My experience stems from living in the same underserved community as the clients I worked with. This has allowed me to create a trustworthy and non-judgmental atmosphere where the client could feel safe and is more readily engaged and self-disclose information more openly. I was able to easily build…

There is not a single feeling greater than the one you experience when you make a positive impact on someone else’s life. Thankfully, I was able to experience that in my junior year. My high school has a program called Link Crew that is designed to help alleviate the anxiety of freshmen’s transition in to high school. When I signed up to get involved, I never realized how strongly it would affect not only my life, but also the life of everyone else who came in contact with it one way or another. Junior year was my first year involved in the program. At first, I was not sure if I would be able to handle it because it was a club that required a large time commitment. I was already involved in my advisory board, student council, and also I had been on the varsity softball team for both years prior to my junior year, along with working anywhere from three to five days a week. It was a very busy time in my life for a while, but I soon came to realize that Link Crew was completely worth it once I started seeing the effect it had on my school.…

Reflection allows an individual to identify the reasons or purpose of understanding the outcome of a particular situation in depth in term of emotions on thought and feeling on the topic area. In addition, Reflection is something that we do implicitly as part of being human, underpinning our identities through a process of negotiation between our sense of self and our experiences of others (Demetriou, 2000, p.210). Therefore, I have implemented this quote in my professional and personal goals I wanted and have achieved thought-out the process of the module. I have made continues effort in building my confidence in situations that I have felt uncomfortable in.…

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a mental health disease that is triggered by a traumatic event. I have been struggling with PTSD, major depression, and anxiety for the past seven years of my life. It stinks to have to live with a mental illness. There’s so many people that just push them aside and just think they’re all make believe. They aren’t in my shoes. They haven’t been through what I’ve been through. What triggered my PSTD was that my father passed away when I only ten years old. Soon after he passed was when I started going downhill.…

Graduating basic training and becoming a United States Army soldier is one of the greatest feelings in the world. Less than one percent of the population of the United States understands and knows exactly how it feels to reach this milestone in life. When I reached this point of my life I was full of a sense pride, relief, and accomplishment. I knew that I had just officially joined something much bigger than myself. The memory of my basic training graduation ceremony will forever be burned into my memory. The date was December 7th, 2012. This day was one of the toughest I had to endure.…
