Program Purpose and Objective Section
The purpose of our program is to provide a loving and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow in that will be open 24 hours day, seven days a week. Around 1/3 of employees that have young children do not work a “normal” work schedule (McClure). Whether these parents work nights, weekends, every other day, etc.; these families need child-care. We want to give these families a place to take their children when they have to work these various shifts.
Research shows that only 12-35 percent of child care centers offer hours outside of the normal 6:30

While every center has to do this, we will have to have more employees due to our hours of operation. We will also have to include one cook for the day shifts, as well as one for the evenings. Along with hiring enough teachers for each room, we will also have to hire floaters and substitutes. Our staff members will each have to complete CPR and first aid training before beginning work. They will also have a background check ran, a tuberculosis test done, and a physical completed. In order to meet all of our standards and goals, we will also have to put some rules and regulations into place for our center. Our handbook will include a detailed version on all of our policies. However, for our overnight center we will have to make sure that the children do not stay at our center for over 12 hours each day. After completing these steps, our child care center will be able to meet our goals and objectives of providing a 24 hours, seven day a week program. While providing this care, we hope that our families are less stressed out and feel safe and secure with their children in our …show more content…
Each person working together is what will make this program run. It is important to stay in communication with each individual to make sure they are fulfilling their jobs, as well as getting what they need. Staff will be encouraged to approach the director with any concerns. They director will be seen and not just in the office, therefore, they will be aware what is going on in their center.

Program Evaluation
We hope that our program is beneficial to families that need childcare for hours that are not covered by most childcare facilities. There are some programs in Springfield that offer care until midnight, however there are no facilities that offer 24-hour care; aside from home based daycares. We want our families that feel less stressed out about childcare, while also knowing that their children are safe in our care.
We will know we have met our goals based on the growth of our center over time. If we are successful, we will know that we have obtained what we set out to do. We will also know that we are pleasing families based on their comments made to us.
Our program goals will be assessed from staff reviews and parental reviews; which will be done every six months. These reviews will 20-30 questions about our center. Parents and staff will rate each question, as well as include any comments/concerns. We will also know that we have met our goals based upon our State

There are many things that Terrance needs to look for one he gets inside the building. First, he needs to look for the size. If the site is large enough to reach operation economies of scale. Second, if it is appropriate for the number/ages of children he plans to serve. Third, if it is large enough to provide a minimum of 35 squares feet of usable floor space for each child. In addition, he should look for the code compliance. For instance, if the building meets all zoning, licensing and building code requirement. He needs to consider if this type of construction is suitable for the child care center occupancy. If the light, ventilation and children’s adult’s bathroom meet the building code requirement.…

The service is a 29 place long day care centre, operating 48 weeks of the year. The children include: five 0-2 year olds so this room would need 1 carer, eight 2-3 year olds this room would also need 1 carer. Sixteen 3-5 year olds would need 2 carers. I would also have 1 to 2 extra staff to cover sick leave, holiday leave, maternity leave and days off that FT staff may take.…

Families’ requirements for their children vary. Some need their children in a setting where they play and learn from activities all or part of the day whilst they are at work. Some parents do not want to leave their children and want to stay and socialise. Some parents want their children in a home based group like with a childminder. Some families cannot afford to pay for provision. Because of these varying needs there are different types of provision available.…

At chapel Street Primary School we offer a variety of services e.g. integrated early education, childcare, community support groups and parent survival courses. Some of these services may include visits to a child’s home or could even have links to training or employment opportunities for families with children under five. In my work setting we help to support working parents by extending the day by combining early education and childcare e.g. breakfast clubs, after school clubs. By offering these clubs different agencies can work together for the benefit of each child.…

With the bustling movement of everyday life one might forget to accomodate your children's day during your hectic one. In this occurrence you can either drop off your child in a certain destination named a childcare center or even at a family member's house. However one might tend to forget to create this proposal of having a safe location for said child and instead give them money and suspect that they will be safe at home alone. Belinda Luscombe demonstrates in her article “A Tale of Two Summers for Parents” the importance of viewing the well known struggle of dedicating full time to your children needs during the tiresome summer session; against the predetermined notions of child safety she develops a comedic viewpoint of the once one answer topic by denouncing the damaging, hurtful, and often ridiculed challenges of taking care of your children…

My first priority is to keep the environment safe to reduce injures. I will take my responsibility very seriously and make sure that there is no child injures at the center. I will make sure that there is no infant left unattended on a changing table. Young infants are only allowed to sleep in their cribs. Not in the car safety seat, bouncy seat, or any other equipment that is not safety approved. Cribs in our facility will be free of blankets, toys and other soft materials that could cause suffocation. All of our facility toys will be large enough to prevent infants from trying to eat or swallow objects that could cause choking. On a daily basis, all toys and equipment will be inspected to make sure they are safe and in working order. Broken toys, chipped wall paint, loose nuts and bolts or splinters from wooden furniture will not be acceptable at any time. All electrical cords and wires in my facility will be tied and out of sight to prevent children from tripping and falling. All of our unused electrical outlets will be covered by safety devices to prevent children from placing objects into the sockets. Last but not least, safety rules and guidelines will constantly be preached and practiced by our children.…
