Being a Filipino-American is very unique. I’m proud to be a part of two of the greatest cultures in the world. What’s even better than being a Filipino-American is being a Filipino-American living in San Diego. San Diego is one of the greatest places to live in the world. It’s a great place for anyone to live. San Diego is one of those cities where everyone is different but we still appreciate each other for who we are. One of the many places in San Diego where I believe is important to me as a Filipino American is my home. San Diego has a mix of about most cultures and ethnicities of the world. Mexican, European, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, African-American, and many more. Plus, there are a variety of destinations for tourists and residents to visit. I love living here because there are many other Filipinos who live here so we aren’t alone. Not only that, but also because it shows that people can associate with other people who aren’t the same as them. Some people in the world prefer for people of the same culture to stay with their own culture. Some people in the world prefer for people of different cultures to socialize with other different cultural people. San Diego allows people to do both. This city also is a great city full of nice people. If you were to go to the store, a stranger would most likely help you if you asked for it. Overall, San Diego is a safe a friendly city. It’s a great place to live for anybody. Whether they are Filipino, American, or both, it’s still a wonderful place. San Diego has great weather, amazing tourist destinations, and incredible residents. A person’s home is one of the only places where you can be yourself and people love you for who you are no matter what. No matter how much trouble you get in, no matter what you do, your family still loves you. For many Filipino families, cooking traditional Filipino dishes occurs very often.
