Heavenly Homes on Earth through and because of Christian Education
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4-9
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

The makeover for a house comes from Hollywood, but the makeover for a home comes from heaven! The declining life of children translates into a declining culture of life! We must provide a godly home for the sake of our children! This can only happen when the home is exposed to Christian Education.
Christian Education teaches the mindset to commit our children to God’s safe keeping. A story is told about a man having a kitten that climbed up a tree in his yard and then was afraid to come down. The man coaxed, offered warm milk, etc. The kitty would not come down. The tree was not sturdy enough to climb, so the man decided that if he tied a rope to his car and drove away so that the tree bent down, he could then reach up and get the kitten. That’s what he did, all the while checking his progress in the car. He then figured if he went just a little bit further, the tree would be bent sufficiently for him to reach the kitten. But as he moved the car a little further forward, the rope broke. The tree went "boing!" and the kitten instantly sailed through the air-out of sight. The man felt really bad. He walked all over the neighborhood asking people if they’d seen a little kitten. Nobody had seen it. So he prayed, "Lord, I just commit this kitten to your keeping," and went on about his business. A few days later he was at the grocery store, and met one of his church members. He

One of N.T. Wright’s main focuses in his book was the image of heaven. Wright starts by exposing the false idea that our Christian hope for the afterlife should be a disembodied, eternal bliss spent amongst the clouds and angles of heaven. This idea has become very popular in the Christian world and has been planted in our head since a young age so it is important that we understand the true heaven. According to the Bible, heaven is not a future destiny but another hidden dimension of our ordinary life (God’s dimension). Basically, heaven and earth are not two different locations within the same continuum of space or matter. God’s kingdom in the preaching of Jesus refers not to postmortem destiny, not to our escape from this world into another one, but to God’s sovereign rule coming in the earth as it is in heaven. Orthodox Christianity no longer holds to the belief in the physical resurrection,…

After watching Beliefs and behavior I understood and could relate to many families within this video being I come from a background of church goers who believes God and church are the way to live. I am very spiritual and believe in God but…. I don’t feel I have to pay a pastor every Sunday to be blessed nor follow in anyone’s footsteps to feel worthy. Parents normally pass on their beliefs and behaviors onto their children with hopes they will walk this path and pass it on to their family in the future. Parents often believe if you bring your child up in church their values would be different from other families who do the opposite. These parents become strict, inflict their morals and beliefs which a child would probably follow or either rebel and become the child they judged all along.…

Some, not all religious individuals, use religion to surrender themselves and become devoted to engaging in heavy worship, and strict commitments to what the Bible says, and the values of the church to not only make the decisions on how they live their lives, but how they raise their children and their political views and participation in politics. Jones using his argument that, “he sees very few examples of what he calls "transformative realism and humility" in the history of religions that would foster maturity in its followers,”(mylearningspace, Lesson 5) relating it directly to the examples of faith depicted in Jesus Camp. The connections made between the unhealthy activities portrayed in the film Jesus Camp, and Jones’s argument result in Becky Fisher, and Evangelical parents submitting their children from birth to have an unhealthy relationship with the Bible, and the Lord. This ongoing crisis threatens anyone who does not identify with similar beliefs and will the breeding of brainwashed, submissive individuals that surrender to an infallible leader will…

Childhood is a pivotal time in ones life. It is a time where one can use the freedoms he or she has been given to lay foundation and gather information needed to figure out who they are and where they fit in with society. The methods the parents and leaders use in this film to teach their kids, literally tells the kids to “lay down their life for Jesus”. This method of teaching is wrong and can be detrimental to a child’s life in many ways. I would like to discuss some of the ways I believe that these teaching methods can have a harmful effect on these children and why I found it frustrating.…

I can think of ten lessons for life on earth taught by earth. I call them earthly lessons for a heavenly life on earth. I rarely think about going to heaven after death, but always think of ways to make life on earth a heavenly one. In fact, when Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is in the midst of you, and taught his disciples to pray for thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven, he was referring to creating and experiencing heaven-on-earth. The first lesson the earth teaches is to celebrate diversity.…

One cold morning, just as the sun had risen above High Street, two men, both in black, dashed hurriedly out of the Merlin Bank. One of the men wore a beard, and both were trim and fit looking, in their late thirties or early forties. They both carried briefcases, from which large denominations of banknotes were poking out; the first man was also carrying a sack with rectangular shaped packets silhouetted against the side; he called out to the one following, “Get a move on, Gilbert; we will miss our connection at the end of Thief Road, and then, dear fellow on to Cadiz.”…
