The economy in the 1920s was “booming” which is one of the reasons the 20s are also known as “the roaring 20s “. Some of the reasons the economy was so good in the 20s was because the war had just ended, jobs were plentiful, and America had invested in Canada’s natural resources. Since WW1 had just ended all of the companies started to get back on track, which really helped. There were plenty of jobs because the war had just ended and everybody needed a job, so that Canadians could afford all of the new inventions and fads to come. America invested in Canada’s natural recourses, which made more money.
The inventions in this paragraph are still helpful to Canadians today as they were in the 1920s these inventions include; insulin, snowmobiles, and the oven. Insulin is used to cure diabetes so that people with diabetes can live; Dr. Fredrick Banting had finally found a way to inject insulin into humans. Snowmobiles revolutionized winter transportation, and are still used today. Snowmobiles are one of the easiest ways to travel in the snow. The oven made it much easier for a stay at home mom to cook meals for the family and is still used today.
Women in the 1920s were given so many more rights because they had won “the persons case” which meant that women were now legally known as people. Some of the new rights women had were; participating in politics and were given the right to vote but they could also take on new social roles such as a flapper. 5 women ran for office in 1921 only one was elected but it was still a very big step for women because they were never able to do this before. Women were fighting for the right to vote since 1870 and had finally got the right in 1920. One of the new social roles for women was a “flapper” a flapper was an untraditional woman who smoked cigarettes, dressed in baggy dresses, drove, and danced the Charleston, flappers were considered controversial the 1920s which made women behave the way the chose to not the way men wanted them to. As you can see Canada really has improved as a nation because of the great economy, all of the new inventions by Canadians and also the rights women gained these are some of the things that made Canada an amazing country.

It was a dawn of new politics in America when congress finally passed the women's suffrage bill and the 19th Amendment became law, giving women the right to vote. Some twenty five million women had won the right to vote. This would play a major role in the up coming election. Many Americans were fed up with Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president from 1913 to 1921.
