13.13: Compare And Contrast DNA And RNA
13. Compare and Contrast DNA and RNA Compare: DNA and RNA are both nucleic acids responsible for the storage, expression, and transmission of genetic information. They both use the nitrogenous bases: adenine, guanine, and cytosine.
Contrast: DNA stores genetic information encoded in the sequence of nucleotide monomers. RNA decodes DNA into instructions for linking together a specific sequence of amino acids to form polypeptide chain. DNA is a deoxyribose, while RNA is a ribose. DNA's fourth nitrogenous base is Thymine, while RNA's is Uracil. DNA is 2 strands in a double helix, while RNA is single stranded. DNA only comes in one form, while RNA can come in many forms.
