10 Week Project Research Paper
For my 10 week project I have chosen to 1.Watch Your Dreams, 2.Mantra/Meditation Practice, and 3. Daily Diary reflections. I have always been fascinated with dreams and their meaning as my mother has a dream book that tells you what certain symbols in dreams mean. My mother also always tells me about her dreams and she remembers them vividly. I however find it very difficult to remember most of my dreams so I would very much enjoy improving this skill over the course of the 10 week project. As for Mantra/Meditation Practice, I've never been a very stressed out person. In fact i have experienced such little stress that I feel as though I take peace as quiet for granted and find myself being completely bored if I'm not actively doing something.

We Americans have a comfortable lifestyle, for the most part. A large part of being comfortable comes from the use of natural resources. Freon keeps your refrigerators and homes cool in the summer. Liquid propane, kerosene, and other natural gases keep your houses warm in the winter. Oil is used for so many products it is mindboggling. Not only is it used to create the gasoline, jet fuel, diesel, and other fuels to propel our transportation, but is used to lubricate those engines as well. It’s not just transportation engines it is used to lubricate; it is used…

The Genre: You’re familiar with the book and movie reviews that appear in newspapers, magazines, and websites. They are just one kind of evaluative writing, but from them we can identify the key components of the genre. First, there is the object to be evaluated. Often this is a single thing—a music CD, a scholarly study, a corporation—but it can also be an idea or process: the impact of a particular band on rock history, the importance of a new trend in scholarly opinion, or the management practices used by a particular sector of industry. Second, there are the criteria…

Last fall our school board decided to make it mandatory for students to attend school year-round. There were many issues to look at before making this decision. I feel that year round school can both benefit and hurt children. There are many issues that people are for and against for year round schooling. What will happen to kids who have summer jobs or even part time jobs? Employers look for kids who are willing to work during the summer months when there are more activities going on in our community. During the school year students can only work part time and during the summer they are able to work more hours. When school is out during the winter months, things are slower, so business is slow. When this happens, it decreases will decrease…

Most students enjoy summer vacation, but some educators feel like the summer breaks are too long and students do not retain information as easily when they return in the fall. Exercise 1: Sandy is considering moving from her apartment into a small house with a fenced yard. The apartment is noisy, and she has a difficult time studying. In addition, the fenced yard would be great for her dog. The distance from school is much the same from the house and from the apartment. The apartment costs $750 per month, and she has two months remaining on her lease. The lease cannot be broken, so Sandy must pay the last two months of rent whether she lives there or not. The rent for the house is $450 per month, plus utilities, which average $100 per month. The apartment is furnished; the house is not. If Sandy moves into the house, she will need to buy furniture immediately. She located the furniture at a discount store for $500.…

As seasons change, and the school year progresses, many students lose that “first day of school excitement” (I know that I do!) (parenthesis) that they once felt. So how do we regain that joy that once filled us? The answer is simple, year round school. Having school year round will enable students to expand their knowledge, decrease the time during which kids are idle when they tend to get into the most trouble, and reduce the stress levels of both teachers and students.…

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee is a novel that was published in 1960, the times where our nation had segregation and injustice amongst the colored and the whites. Racism presents itself in many ways in the town of Maycomb. Some are blatant and open, but others are more insidious. The plot focuses on a lawyer, Atticus Finch, and how he defends a colored man, Tom Robinson, who is wrongly accused of raping a white woman, Mayella Ewell. When they go to trial Tom is automatically a victim of injustice when they find him guilty of rape just because he is black (Normney 5). om Robinson’s trial, and in fact his entire life, was badly affected by racism. It is truly a testament to the corruption of society when a person who has earned a bad reputation is held in higher esteem than a person who was born with it, as is the case with Bob Ewell and Tom Robinson. Even though Tom was obviously honest in his testament, the jury sided with Bob Ewell because he was white. They made this decision despite the fact that the Ewell family was widely known to be a worthless part of society. Jem, not being racially prejudiced, could not understand this mentality. As Atticus pointed out, “If you (Jem) had been on the jury, son, and eleven other boys like you, Tom would be a free man.” (Lee 7).…

Back when I was in high school around late November early December is when I begin to get sick and I felt really tired and all I wanted to do was sleep. In early January I found out that I was pregnant. After Christmas break when I went back to school I would put my head down and hope for all the morning sickness to go away. I eventually ended up falling asleep and forgetting what was going on in class. My teacher would hand me my assignment and I would take them home that night along with my homework and never completed because I was so tried. After school I would go straight to work and I did not get off work until 11:00pm or sometimes 12:00pm by the time I got in the house I was ready to shower and get in bed I did not feel like doing homework…
