Early intervention can help children and young people develop to their full potential. There are various specialists that can help including: developmental teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech and language pathologist/audiologists, vision consultants and hearing consultants.
Every school has a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO). The SENCO is the teacher with overall responsibility for co-ordinating provision for children with special educational needs in the school and for monitoring their progress.
