The definition of human rights varies among different sources, but going back in history and looking at one of the front runners in the promotion of natural rights will help to define it better. John Locke’s fundamental argument was that people are equal and invested with natural rights in a state of nature in which they live free from outside rule. Locke's 2nd Treatise on Government argues that the world is naturally orderly and that there must be some sort of original order in place. With the natural order comes the thought that man possesses natural rights that are fundamental and self-evident. He believed that no matter what, humans were born with certain freedoms, most importantly life and liberty: to live, and to live freely. But history has shown that some groups were overlooked and denied these rights.…

Every human being is entitled to certain rights simply because because he or she is a human being. Some of those rights are the right to life, the right to happiness, and the right to live life without discrimination. Human rights are expected to be respected and followed, but historical events have proven the fact that they are not always acknowledged. Two scenarios in which human rights are violated are the Holocaust and slavery. Even though people may say that they believe human rights are important, not every person shows support for their claims.…

The concept of Human Rights is one that is difficult to put into words. Simply put, the idea of human rights vary from culture to culture, therefore, the idea that human rights can be actualized for each person is impossible. The way people of certain races are treated in the U.S. differs from way that they may be treated in an area such as France as stated by Josephine Baker in her “Speech at the March on Washington”. Religious intolerance is also very relevant in many places, as seen in Elie Wiesels Night. Each country has unique cultural and societal normalities reguarding Human Rights, making it impossible for every person to have every one of the Human Rights.…

Human rights are universally recognized liberties for each human in the world granted by birth. Just the fact that you are born entitles you the right to be treated in a comfortable and respectable manner. The important part of these rights is that they are undeniable and inalienable. What are human rights? Human rights are the rights given to each person so that they may be treated with dignity, equality, and respect. These rights are given to people to ensure the foundation of freedom, justice, and peace in our society. However, human rights were not given as a birth right, but rather as a struggle that has occurred through many eras. As a result, many battles, conflicts, wars, and revolutions have been fought over this issue. The French and American revolutions are both two great examples of how confrontation has helped the cause for human rights and have provided laws and legal documents to ensure the rights of humans in today 's society.…
