MANAGING CHANGE IN ORGANIZATION
INTRODUCTION TO MANAGING CHANGE
Change is a structured approach to shifting/moving individual, team and organization from the present state towards the desired future state in order to increase its effectiveness. Change management is an organizational process aimed at helping change stakeholders to accept and embrace changes in their business environment. It is an important aspect of management that tries to ensure that a business responds to the environment in which it operates.
In today’s business world, most organizations are facing a dynamic and changing environment. This therefore implies that they either change or die, there is no third alternative. Organizations that learn and cope with change always florish and those who fail to cope with it are always wiped out.

Management therefore needs to continuously monitor the outside environment and be sufficiently innovative and creative to find new and better ways of utilizing organizational resources in order for the organisation to be more efficient and effective.
IMPLICATIONS OF CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Sucessful organisational change of any significant scale is attributed to the right strategies and appriopiate method. When change is effectively managed:-
Communications are segmented and customized for different audiences, answering the questions that they care about.
Momentum is built throughout different areas and levels within the organization.
Changes are less painful to the organization and to the employees.
A coalition of support among senior leaders and managers creates momentum throughout the organization.
Probability of meeting project objectives is increased.
The organization begins to build a history of successful change, creating a room for the next change initiative.
Employees actively engage in the change process.
Training is used to build knowledge after employees have made the personal decision to support the change.
