Office of Student Financial Aid

Dear Financial Aid Office:
“Invest in a human Soul who known it may be a diamond in the rough” stated by our beloved Founder Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. My name is (insert name), a (insert classification) majoring in (insert major), the purpose of this letter is for reconsideration of Financial Aid eligibility and to also continue on and becoming an Alumni of this PRESTIGOUS Institution. The actions I displayed this past semester were very careless and it has reflected onto my grades and I take full responsibility for that. During the past semester, I was going through a lot of things that contributed to my grades falling as well as my GPA suffering.
I come from a city that has no happy ending, violence, drugs, and homicides. I see it all when I visit back home, and I’m trying to get away from that type of environment but that’s what I was born into and it has become a part of me but I know all of that can change, I have had some improvement this past semester but it was not enough and I am asking for another chance to prove myself so I may be all that I can be. I want to make a difference for those that I grew up with and let them know they too can make it in life just as I am trying to do for myself and also my daughter. This too is possible if I am afforded the opportunity to become reinstated back in school. I was inspired to work within the field of education by several individuals within my family that have gone on and receive bachelor’s degrees, masters and even doctoral degrees. That has given me the drive to become a teacher; an African-American male teacher who did not have a good up-bringing and who is able to make a difference for those that maybe walking down the same path as I did. Furthermore, I believe I belong here at Bethune-Cookman University because it has been invested within me and I am a diamond

According to Brooks, the ethical culture of a business “should be based on honesty, fairness, compassion, integrity, predictability, and responsibility and focused on the development of trust and the respect for stakeholder interests” (672). In this case, Mr. Woodrow, as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Tap Sap Company, did not follow this ethical issue:…

I chose Dr. Bethune because my grandmother was inspired at the age of 40 to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and taught for twenty nine years. She said that Dr. Bethune inspired her through all of her accomplishments, in spite of the challenges that she faced as an African American women. I too, am inspired by her accomplishments. My goal through research is to learn more about Dr. Bethune’s leadership and hopefully I will be able to emulate some of her characteristics.…

I have always aspired to make an impact on the world. Teaching in an urban school setting will enable me to make a positive impact and fulfill my share in this world while working a job I am passionate about. Students in urban schools are frequently looked over and are not taken seriously. Society does not expect students in urban schools to make it far in life, and often these children do not receive the opportunities other students receive. However we, as a society, fail to recognize the capabilities and talents all students, even in urban schools, embody. Students in urban schools are just as intelligent and worthy of success as anyone else. I want to take part to ensure…

I am writing this letter for readmission to the college. I realize the importance of education for my future career, and I also realize the need for aligning my professional strivings with educational achievements. Unfortunately, the period between 2012 and 2014 turned out to be a complete educational failure to me. I did not devote time to my studies; as a result, I failed classes. I was naive and did not make myself aware of the value that comes from learning. I let myself become too concern with emotional issues that later became too much for me to handle alone and on inefficient time management. I was not mature enough then to seek help for the struggles I was facing. I blame nobody but myself for my poor academic…

As I think back over my life and the many decisions I have made, it reminds me of a quote by Brigitte Nicole. And she said, “You will know you made the right decision when you feel the stress leaving your body, your mind, and your life”. I have had many choices and have made many decisions. In all honesty, some turned out well, and others, let's just say that we win some and we lose some. In either event, I am glad that I did not stop making choices, and as a result, I have made one of the best decisions of my life by returning to school. There are numerous reasons for me doing so, first of which is the desire to better myself. Second is my need for rewarding work. The third is my yearning to help the less fortunate. I have concluded that this life changing decision is not only for me, but it will trickle down and effect all those around me. My choice to come back to school will give me a career, influence my children, and impact the lives of people I don’t even know yet.…

The full extent to which I can affect the world in these ways is mostly determined over my next four years and the opportunities I have during that time. Replacing a financial burden with the available time to research as an undergraduate could allow me to advance my dreams of becoming a professor, one of the most influential professions on the academic community, a college, and the community within. The Dr. Paul Kelley Memorial Scholarship is the best way for me to further contribute my experience of Knox County to the…

I am a hardworking student. I have been for most of my life. However, I never imagined the difficulty of keeping up my grades, which later proved to be my biggest mistake. My grades steadily declined before I could realize it. My GPA was at an all time low of 2.7, and at the time, I didn’t care. I just thought to myself that it was not a big deal and I will try harder next year. In fact, it was a big deal, and I did not try harder next year.…

I acknowledge, I had a really hard time last semester, and my grades suffered as a result. I don't want to make excuses for my horrible college performance, but I want to explain the circumstances. I knew that working four different jobs would hinder me from doing well in school in my previous semesters. They required a lot of me, but I needed to earn enough money to pay for my tuition at school as I do not qualify for financial aid as a non-citizen student. I thought I would be able to handle the amount of work load and I still think I could have, but I managed my time poorly. Living in America for a long period of time before I was a teenager with no work permit or permission to travel back home (prior to the deferred action law that was passed recently which allows me to now work) took a toll on my mind. After multiple evictions and not being able to afford tuition or feeling like I would amount to…

Akademi Teknikal Laut Malaysia (ATLAM) has been established on 15 August 1981 as to train and prepare Malaysian for maritime industry which was located in Melaka and Terengganu. Based on the study conducted by the World Maritime University, they found out that ATLAM had a poor IT infrastructure compared to Japan and Europe. It is due to ATLAM was using a customized single-user system which was merely for accounting entries and cannot provide financial reports. As ATLAM had become a subsidiary of PETRA Group of Company since 1997, they took this as an opportunity for them to enhance their IT facilities by implementing a new accounting system so called SAP (Systems, Application and Products). Although it was very costly, it comprises various functions of an organization. As a result, the Finance and Accounts Manager of ATLAM, Zulkifli, has been asked to review the plan of implementation the SAP in ATLAM and decide whether they can upgrade their accounting system.…
