Code Blue
A PA call that applies to all medical emergencies involving a customer, staff member or any visitors to the store

Credit Note
A commercial document issued to a buyer or a seller
Customer Objections
Questions or statements that the customer may make to indicate that they may be unsure about the purchase. The usually refer to price, time or merchandise
Cyclical Stocktake
A stocktake where only part of the stock is counted at any one time, but on a regular scheduled basis
Department Store
Very large shops that sell a variety of products grouped in sections (e.g. Myers, DJ)
Discount Store
Large shops that sell a variety of products that are in the low-medium price range (e.g. Target, Big W)
Dispatching Goods
Distributing goods to the relevant department or fixture for display and sale
Door-to-door Sales
This form of sales involves visiting people at their homes to explain or demonstrate products (e.g. gas, Avon, electricity utilities)

Many businesses are now selling their products online via the internet (e.g. eBay, Amazon)
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)
An electronic stock recording system where a computer which is linked to Point of Sale equipment records all sales and automatically recalculates stock levels

Features are tangible, measurable characteristics of a product (see, smell, touch, hear, or taste them) which can include brand, price and or materials
First In, First Out (FIFO)
A stock rotation system which requires the goods bought first by the store to be sold first
Full Stocktake
A Stocktake where every item in a store is counted
Full Time
Paid annual and leave, roster, maximum number of hours
