Reaction Paper 3 Everyday we all go through some kind of interaction with one another whether it’s at school, work, social networking sites, our phones, or even at the store. Social interaction is the process by which people act and react in relations to others. Through these interactions we go through different roles. The role is behavior expected of someone who holes a particular status. Each person has more than one role and at times it is hard to deal with and this causes us to feel stressed because of the many roles we take on. Taking on a number of roles is a normal behavior. For example I have the role of being a student, friend, girlfriend, and daughter. Because of the many roles I have there are sometimes conflict; therefore, I have to learn how to deal with the different roles and set them aside when I am put into a different position. When I feel stressed because of the statuses it is called roll conflict. Roll conflict is conflict among the roles connected to two or more statuses. For example, on my date night with my boyfriend I had to change my plans of going to Disneyland to come home and write a paper. I wanted to go out and have fun enjoying my night with my boyfriend, but my decision was to take the role as a student and write my paper. This has happened more than once when I had to choose the role of being a student over everything else because of the schoolwork I had to do. It does get tiring sometimes but it’s for my own being in becoming a better person for myself. The role of being a student will help me achieve a better future and in that future I will become a better person. As the daughter in the house I am given the role to take care of the household which means to clean and cook. I don’t always listen to my mom when it comes to these responsibilities because I had to do my schoolwork first. Choosing schoolwork over housework has gotten me in trouble but I felt

This meant understanding and dealing with each problem as it surfaced. I have lumped them into these three categories: academic goals, social acceptance, and the logistics of getting it all done.…
