Re-Affiliated "Live on Purpose" 2014 Insta-Connect Pep Rally Mentor Letter
Greetings, Mentors

I hope you all are well. I originally sent out a letter asking for participants to be mentors in a project that I am expanded on from which I started back in 2009. I am a liitle surprised and disappointed in the lack of response of mentors for the project. I realize as professionals, many of you have programs and organizations that you all partner up with and do certain thing with to help the children but i have to honestly ask you if what you're doing is it a once a year thing for publicity or is it something that it's actually making a difference in sometimes life. I'm not taking about buying sometime a back pack for the first day of school and never knowing if they even go to school, or getting them a uniform a and you don't even know what school they do to our feeding the children and they are too engaged to pull out their isn't buyer and jelly sandwich next to sometime else chick file a. I'm talking about a keeping up with someone when the spotty light is off, the camera crew had left, when a school year is almost up and that child's is struggling to past the next assignment, when they are so distracted by social media and you can take out a few seconds of your busy schedule and say, hey kiid, I'm just checking on you to make sure your ok, making sure your still good on your grades, attendance and still working toward your career goals. Is there anything I can help you with? Just a simple meager like that to reach out each month to stay connected to your mentee. I'm asking if you can take out the time to join in with me for this purpose. I originally stated with the goal of housing this event on September 6, I've had to reschedule it for several reasons. You wouldn't believe all the word things that has tried to keep me from doing this event from people bashing out in me, greedy agents, sponsors sending fraud cashier checks, venue over booking, all kinds of madness. But what has mad me strive to do this event is not only am i using

I interviewed mentor Lesley Barajas who works in EOP central. Lesley and I both have seen different issues in our neighborhood. Lesley and I are from totally different areas. She is from near San Diego, and I am from the valley. These issues keep on recurring in our neighborhoods, and we are tired of them. In Lesley’s, neighborhood, bullying is the biggest issue, and would say it is an epidemic. In my community the biggest issue is single-parent households. Lesley also mentioned depression and peer pressure from negative friends affecting her community. I also put down racial discrimination because I feel that racism is everywhere now and it affects people in their lives.…

I interviewed a friend of mine who tutors at a middle school. She has been tutoring for three years. Her reasons for volunteering are that she enjoys helping kids learn and believes that education is a very important thing. The organization that she volunteers for goes to the middle school every morning and tutors the kids who have difficulty with their classes. An organization like this is needed in our community because everybody in my town does not believe that education is important for the future and tutoring children at a younger, more impressionable age makes an impact. She described her love for watching kids get excited about learning and doing their work. “Every time we all walk into the room, the kid’s race to their tutor, eager to learn more,” she said. As…

Furthermore, I hope to accomplish from my senior project of donating to the Child Advocacy center for their hard work and involvement of “ChildHood abuse’’ and cutting down on neglect and uncaring parents in Bastrop, Tx. For my main goal is to locate my real parents and ask them the question I’ve waited for years to ask them. Why? I expected to be able to touch others and spread out the word, that “ we all have feelings”. Assessing my project, I’ve accomplished a lot in just a short time period span. I know see what I’m capable of achieving. As long as I keep faith and keep moving straight. Final thoughts about my senior project is I would like to thank all that has helped me and listened to my thoughts and concerns pertaining to ChildHood Abuse. It’s been a great blessing having all you by my side and thank you all to friends and family helping me accomplish my goal. I’ve taken multiple turns in this project, along with many emotional obstacles. It wasn’t an easy project but I would like to say, I did it! In conclusion, “Together we are strong, alone we are…

An evaluation (Cave and Quint 1990) found participants in various mentoring programs had higher levels of college enrollment. Both programs also have community-based mentors that meet with their mentees on evenings and weekends at various locations, including the mentor's home. It is concluded that positive effects are much more likely when one-on-one mentoring has been strongly implemented. Our society shows positive results when we give our adult talents or compassion as a mentor and shows a promising future for our youth.…

My unique educational environment of a school has allowed me the opportunity to form close relationships with teachers and students alike, enabling me to interact with people of various backgrounds and ages.
